Thật là những thực hành nho nhỏ nhưng Chúa tỏ </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">quyền phép Ngài ra ngay trong việc tạo dựng những vật thật bé nhỏ cũng như trong những vật thật to lớn. Và hình như Têrêsa đã khám phá ra sức mạnh đó </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">trong muôn vàn hành động ti tiểu.</span><span style="line-height:200%; font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; "> </span></p>

Nhưng em muốn làm điều đó vì đây chính </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">là ý Chúa mà em phải thi hành qua sự hèn mọn này”.</span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; "> </span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top:0in;margin-right:4.5pt;margin-bottom:0in;margin-left:0in;text-align:justify;line-height:200%;"><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">Khi tôi hỏi Chị làm sao để thánh hoá những bữa ăn thì Chị trả lời: “Phải làm </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">công việc tự nó rất thấp hèn này trong tâm tình liên kết với Chúa chúng ta. </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; "><br>
<span style="color:black; ">Nhiều lần chính ở nhà cơm mà em có được những tâm tình yêu mến thật cao đẹp. Thỉnh thoảng em như bị bắt buộc phải dừng lại. Ôi! Em sung sướng nghĩ rằng nếu lúc này Chúa ngồi ở chỗ em, trước phần ăn này thì Chúa cũng dùng nó. Chúa sẽ dùng những thứ người ta dọn sẵn lên… Rồi rất có thể trong suốt thời gian Chúa sống tại thế, Chúa cũng đã nếm những món ăn giống món em ăn đây, do chính tay Mẹ Marie dọn lên cho Chúa, chẳng hạn như món cháo… rồi Chúa cũng dùng bánh, rau, hoa quả, thịt cá…”.</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top:0in;margin-right:4.5pt;margin-bottom:0in;margin-left:0in;text-align:justify;line-height:200%;"><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">Chị mang nặng những tâm tình đó và linh hồn Chị chơi vơi theo hương vị của tình yêu vời vợi.</span><span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: 18.0pt"> </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">Sau đây là những hãm mình Chị thực hành trong bữa ăn, vì các việc làm khác Chị đểu không được phép.</span> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top:0in;margin-right:4.5pt;margin-bottom:0in;margin-left:0in;text-align:justify;line-height:200%;"><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">Khi cán dao hay thìa còn dơ nên dính tay, Chị luôn giữ mình để khỏi mất dịp </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">hy sinh. Đây thực là việc làm Chị phải cố gắng rất nhiều. Hơn nữa Chị còn giữ </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">nguyên như vậy cho đến hết bữa ăn.</span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; "> </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">Có năm, trong những tuần cuối mùa Chay, tại nhà cơm đọc sách về sự </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; "><span style="color:black; ">Thương Khó Chúa. Chị bảo tôi rằng nghe đoạn sách đó làm Chị chán ngán </span><span style="color:black; ">không muốn dùng bữa, và có ăn thì chỉ là bó buộc, ăn như vụng trộm vậy vì Chị </span><span style="color:black; ">coi việc ăn uống là hành động thật thấp kém. Trong những lúc đó Chị thường </span><span style="color:black; ">nhịn uống cho tới khi người đọc sách dừng lại, hay tới khi đoạn sách ít cảm động </span><span style="color:black; ">hơn. Lúc đó Chị mới vội vàng uống như giấu giếm vậy, vì Chị bảo “ăn thì không </span><span style="color:black; ">thể bỏ được, nhưng uống thì có thể nhịn, và đây thật là niềm an ủi”.</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top:0in;margin-right:4.5pt;margin-bottom:0in;margin-left:0in;text-align:justify;line-height:200%;"><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">Chị kể cho tôi nghe điều đó không phải để khuyên tôi theo gương Chị, </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; "><span style="color:black; ">nhưng là để cho tôi hay Chị bị xúc động chừng nào khi nghe sự Thương Khó </span><span style="color:black; ">Chúa Giêsu đã chịu vì chúng ta.</span></span> <span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">Ở nhà cơm, Chị Têrêsa Hài Đồng Giêsu có những tập quán ngây thơ đáng </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">yêu, Chị đã hồn nhiên thuật lại cho chúng tôi hay:</span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; "> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top:0in;margin-right:4.5pt;margin-bottom:0in;margin-left:0in;text-align:justify;line-height:200%;"><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">“Em tưởng mình đang ở Nazareth trong nhà Thánh Gia. Chẳng hạn, nếu </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">người ta dọn rau, cá, rượu hay thức gì thuộc về chất mạnh, thì em dâng những món đó cho Thánh Giuse. Đối với Đức Mẹ, em sẽ dâng Người những phần ăn nóng hổi, những quả chín ngon ngọt… Còn những món ăn ngày đại lễ, đặc biệt </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">cháo ngọt, cơm, mứt, em sẽ dâng lên Chúa Giêsu Bé Thơ. Cuối cùng, khi dùng </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">bữa ăn xoàng, em sẽ vui vẻ tự nhủ: Hôm nay, hỡi cô gái nhỏ yêu quý của ta, tất cả </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">những cái đó là dành để cho cô đó!”.</span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; "> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top:0in;margin-right:4.5pt;margin-bottom:0in;margin-left:0in;text-align:justify;line-height:200%;"><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">Chị giấu không cho chúng tôi thấy Chị hy sinh phạt xác bằng cách giữ bộ </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">diện bên ngoài luôn tươi vui. Tuy thế, trong một ngày ăn chay, Mẹ Bề trên bảo Chị cần dưỡng sức hơn thì một chị nhà tập thấy Chị chế thêm cây khổ ngải là </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">một loại cây rất đắng vào thức ăn.</span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; "> </span></p>
