<span style="color:black; ">Chị chỉ nói cho tôi hay là Chị đã trình bày tất cả tâm hồn Chị cho cha Godefroy-Madeleine. Cha khuyên Chị nên chép Kinh Tin Kính và đeo Kinh đó trên ngực. Chị đã thi hành lời khuyên tức khắc và còn lấy cả máu đào để viết bản Kinh đó.</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top:0in;margin-right:0in;margin-bottom:0in;margin-left:4.5pt;text-align:justify;text-indent:-4.5pt;line-height:200%;"><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">Có lẽ khi thổ lộ tâm tình với tôi, thì nỗi niềm đau khổ của Chị sẽ vơi bớt </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">chăng. Nhưng Chị sợ tôi sẽ phải chia sẻ những nguy nan đó, nên chỉ muốn âm </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">thầm chịu đựng một mình.</span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; "> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top:0in;margin-right:0in;margin-bottom:0in;margin-left:4.5pt;text-align:justify;text-indent:-4.5pt;line-height:200%;"><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">Khi tôi hỏi Chị về thử thách nội tâm thì Chị chỉ còn biết nhìn tôi với cặp mắt </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">xa vời: “Nếu chị biết!… Ôi! Nếu chị chỉ trải qua 5 phút thôi những cám dỗ em </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">phải chịu!”.</span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; "> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top:0in;margin-right:4.5pt;margin-bottom:0in;margin-left:4.5pt;text-align:justify;text-indent:-4.5pt;line-height:200%;"><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">Có lúc nói về những chuyện không liên quan gì với vấn đề này, thì hình như </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; "><br>
<span style="color:black; ">Chị để lộ những đau khổ bí mật đó. Chị áy náy nói với tôi: “Có Trời thật không </span><span style="color:black; ">chị?… Xin chị nói cho em về Nước Trời đi!…”. Tôi cố gắng kể cho Chị nghe </span><span style="color:black; ">những vẻ đẹp huyền diệu của Nước Trời và Thiên Chúa nhân lành. Tôi tha thiết </span><span style="color:black; ">thổ lộ những điểu đó với tất cả niềm tin tưởng mãnh liệt, nhưng than ôi! Lời lẽ </span><span style="color:black; ">của tôi không thấy một âm hưởng! Thỉnh thoảng Chị ngắt lời tôi với tiếng “A” </span><span style="color:black; ">rời rạc. Tôi phải đổi đề tài vì những chuyện tôi kể như lại làm Chị đau khổ quằn </span><span style="color:black; ">quại thêm! Trước cơn thử thách nặng nề của Chị lòng tôi không khỏi dâng lên </span><span style="color:black; ">niềm đau xót!</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top:0in;margin-right:4.5pt;margin-bottom:0in;margin-left:4.5pt;text-align:justify;text-indent:-4.5pt;line-height:200%;"><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">Trước những cố gắng vô hiệu của tôi, Chị Têrêsa bé nhỏ yêu quý nói với tôi là hãy cầu nguyện nhiều cho Chị. Riêng về thái độ bên ngoài thì Chị không để lộ một dấu gì khác thường cả. Chị đã thắng được cám dỗ nhờ luôn làm những tác </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">động đức tin và nhờ sáng tác thơ văn, những vần thơ phản chiếu một tâm hồn </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">chứa chan tình yêu. </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">Giấc mộng đẹp và can đảm đích thực n</span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">hư thánh Gioan Thánh Giá, người cha của chúng tôi, Chị sống mà không hề </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">dựa dẫm vào một điểm tựa nào cả. Ít là trong thực tế, tôi không được nếm những </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">châm ngôn khổ hạnh đó, nên tôi rất ngạc nhiên trước những thay đổi dồn dập trong tâm hồn. Những thay đổi này là do giáo dục trong tu viện để cải hoá con </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">người cũ nơi tôi, nhưng vì chưa quen, nên tôi hối tiếc những tâm tình sâu đậm, </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">nồng nàn còn theo tình cảm ngày xưa.</span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; "> </span></p>

Vì vinh danh Chúa, em sẽ đi tới tận cùng trái đất, không </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">hề sợ hãi thú dữ. Còn bây giờ, bao nhiêu cảm tình mãnh liệt đó tắt ngắm, em </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">thấy mình không còn chút can đảm nào hết!…</span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; "> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top:0in;margin-right:0in;margin-bottom:0in;margin-left:4.5pt;text-align:justify;text-indent:-4.5pt;line-height:200%;"><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">- Đấy là tâm tình tuổi trẻ chị ạ: lòng can đảm thật không hệ tại ở sự hăng say nhất thời, muốn đi chinh phục các tâm hồn, sẵn sàng chịu mọi nguy hiểm, tưởng tượng như vậy, thật ra chỉ làm cho giấc mộng thêm huyền ảo thôi. Ta chỉ nên </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">ước muốn điều đó trong khắc khoải lo âu, đồng thời thấy phải đẩy lui chúng </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">chẳng khác gì như Chúa trong vườn Câu Dầu vậy”.</span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; "> </span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top:6.8pt;margin-right:0in;margin-bottom:0in;margin-left:4.5pt;text-align:justify;text-indent:-4.5pt;line-height:200%;"><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">Chị bảo tôi: Thường người đời cho rằng chúng ta chẳng phải chịu chút đau khổ </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">nào cả, hay chỉ có những đau khổ trẻ con. Họ bảo ‘Phải’. Những thánh giá người </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">đời phải chịu mới thật xứng danh là thánh giá!</span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; "> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top:0in;margin-right:4.5pt;margin-bottom:0in;margin-left:4.5pt;text-align:justify;text-indent:-4.5pt;line-height:200%;"><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">Quả đúng ở ngoài đời có những thánh giá thật lớn lao, thật nặng nhọc… Còn </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">thánh giá trong nhà tu chẳng khác gì những chiếc kim hằng ngày đâm vào người. </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">Nên cuộc chiến đấu thuộc một địa hạt hoàn toàn khác biệt. Người nhà tu phải </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">chiến đấu với bản thân, phải huỷ diệt chính mình. Chính trên địa hạt này mà </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">chúng ta đạt những thắng lợi đích thực. Biết bao người giã từ cuộc đời để sống tu </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">trì, xa lìa cha mẹ, con cái làm kẻ khác phải say mê đức can đảm cũng như con tim </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">đầy chí khí của mình, thế mà nhiều lần lại thất đảm trước những thánh giá trong </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">đời tu trì! Em thấy ngay trong nhà Kín này những tâm hồn bề ngoài có vẻ rất </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">dũng mãnh lại thật dễ ngã quỵ trước những việc nhỏ mọn. Thành tích lớn lao </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">nhất là chiến thắng chính mình, lời đó đúng biết bao!”.</span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; "> </span></p>
