Nhưng Ngài đã báo ‘có nhiều chỗ ở trong Nhà Cha </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:17.0pt; color:black; ">Ngài’. Nếu có chỗ cho những tâm hồn quả cảm như các thánh tu rừng xưa và các </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:17.0pt; color:black; ">vị tử đạo bằng việc chay tịnh đền tội, thì cũng có chỗ cho các trẻ em bé nhỏ. Đó </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:17.0pt; color:black; ">là chỗ của chúng ta, nếu chúng ta yêu Chúa Giêsu nhiều! Yêu Ngài cùng với yêu </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:17.0pt; color:black; ">Chúa Cha và Thần Linh Thánh Ái”.</span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:17.0pt; "> </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:17.0pt; color:black; ">Như ta thấy, Chị Têrêsa là một tâm hồn hết sức đơn sơ, biết thánh hoá mình </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:17.0pt; color:black; ">bằng những cách thức thông thường.</span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:17.0pt; "> </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:17.0pt; color:black; ">Do đó ta hiểu việc được những ơn lạ trong đời sống Chị là một việc trái </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:17.0pt; color:black; ">nghịch với điều Chị gọi là thánh ý Chúa trên Chị. Đời chị phải làm mẫu mực cho </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:17.0pt; color:black; ">những tâm hồn bé nhỏ.</span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:17.0pt; "> </span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top:0in;margin-right:9.0pt;margin-bottom:0in;margin-left:4.5pt;text-align:justify;line-height:200%;"><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:17.0pt; color:black; ">Có hôm tôi đọc những lời sau đây trong cuốn Đức Huấn Thiện: “Lòng từ ái </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:17.0pt; "><span style="color:black; ">sẽ ban cho mỗi người địa vị tuỳ huân nghiệp họ làm và tuỳ lương tri họ sử </span><span style="color:black; ">dụng”</span><sup><span style="color:#0056AC; ">44</span></sup><span style="color:black; ">. Tôi bảo Chị sẽ có địa vị tốt đẹp vì Chị đã lái con thuyền đời một cách </span><span style="color:black; ">tuyệt hảo. Nhưng tại sao lại tuỳ theo huân nghiệp họ làm? Chị liền hăng say cắt </span><span style="color:black; ">nghĩa để tôi hiểu tinh thần tín thác và trao phó toàn thân nơi Chúa cần được </span><span style="color:black; ">nuôi dưỡng bằng hy sinh. Chị bảo: “Chúng ta phải làm mọi việc có thể làm, cho </span><span style="color:black; ">không tính toán, bền tâm quên mình. Tóm lại, là tận sức thi hành một việc lành </span><span style="color:black; ">để chứng tỏ tình yêu. Chị say mê lời sau đây của Thánh Gioan Thánh Giá mà Chị coi như của </span><span style="color:black; ">Chị vậy: “Chúa càng muốn ban cho ta bao nhiêu, thì Ngài càng làm ta ước vọng </span><span style="color:black; ">bấy nhiêu”</span><sup><span style="color:#0056AC; ">46</span></sup><span style="color:black; ">.</span></span> <span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:17.0pt; color:black; ">Chị đặt nền tảng niềm hy vọng sẽ không phải qua lửa luyện tội trên tinh </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:17.0pt; color:black; ">thần Phó thác và trên Đấng Tình Yêu, đồng thời cũng không quên đức khiêm </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:17.0pt; color:black; ">nhường là nhân đức đặc biệt của tinh thần trẻ thơ. Trẻ em yêu mến cha mẹ và </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:17.0pt; color:black; ">không có một kỳ vọng nào ngoài điều muốn hoàn toàn nơi cha mẹ vì em thấy </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:17.0pt; color:black; ">mình yếu đuối bất lực.</span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:17.0pt; "> </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:17.0pt; color:black; ">Chị nói với tôi: “Có bao giờ người cha mắng con khi em đã biết thú tội </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:17.0pt; color:black; ">không? Con thỏ thấy mình tới ngày tận số, nên thình lình đổi chiều và nhảy ngay </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:17.0pt; color:black; ">vào trong tay vị đang săn mình. Vị này xúc động vì cử chỉ chứa chan phó thác ấy, </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:17.0pt; color:black; ">nên không muốn xa lìa con thỏ trắng kia nữa, mà dành lấy việc chăm sóc nuôi </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:17.0pt; color:black; ">dưỡng chú thỏ đáng thương đó.</span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:17.0pt; "> </span></p>

<span style="color:black; "> Tuy Chị đã nhìn thấy những tâm hồn bé nhỏ đi theo Con đường Thơ ấu thiêng liêng, Chị cũng không hề mất hy vọng táo bạo là cả những tội nhân xấu xa cũng theo con đường này nữa.</span></span> <span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:17.0pt; color:black; ">Vì thế Chị Têrêsa Hài Đồng Giêsu đã có thể viết trong Bút Ký:</span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:17.0pt; "> </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:17.0pt; color:black; ">“… Vâng, con tín thác ngay cả khi con thấy mình chất chứa mọi thứ tội lỗi </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:17.0pt; "><span style="color:black; ">người ta có thể phạm. Lúc đó lòng chan hoà thống hối, con sẽ gieo mình vào </span><span style="color:black; ">cánh tay Chúa Giêsu, vì con biết rõ Chúa rất yêu thương người con phung phí </span><span style="color:black; ">trở về với Người. Không phải vì Chúa nhân lành trong tình thương yêu săn sóc </span><span style="color:black; ">của Ngài, Ngài đã giữ gìn hồn con khỏi tội trọng mà con nâng lòng con lên với </span><span style="color:black; ">Ngài trong tin yêu”</span><sup><span style="color:#0056AC; ">47</span></sup><span style="color:black; ">.</span></span> <span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:17.0pt; color:black; ">Khi vừa vào Dòng Kín, tôi liền xin phép đọc hạnh các đấng ẩn tu và tôi có </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:17.0pt; "><span style="color:black; ">ghi được một số đoạn. Có mẩu huyện làm Têrêsa xúc động tới nỗi Chị tiếc là đã không chép vào Tiểu sử của Chị và Chị nài nỉ xin thêm vào. Câu chuyện như sau:</span></span> <span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:17.0pt; color:black; ">“Có một thiếu nữ tội lỗi tên là Paésie đã làm gương mù tai hại cho cả vùng. Một vị ẩn tu tên là Jean de Nain tìm gặp nàng và khuyên nàng nên thống hối tội lỗi. Nàng ngỡ ngàng hỏi: Thưa cha, con mà cũng thống hối được sao? Vị thánh </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:17.0pt; color:black; ">trả lời: Còn, cha quả quyết với con là còn! Lúc ấy em bảo mình: ‘Con gái cưng của ta, đấy là hậu quả lỗi lầm con đó’ </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:17.0pt; color:black; ">và em nhẫn nại chịu đựng để món nợ bé nhỏ được đền trả ngay.</span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:17.0pt; "> </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:17.0pt; color:black; ">Nhưng trong niềm cậy trông này, Chị thấy chỉ những kẻ khiêm nhường và </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:17.0pt; color:black; ">phó thác trong yêu mến mới đền trả thoả đáng phép công thẳng Chúa. Với </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:17.0pt; color:black; ">những linh hồn này, Chị thấy họ không phải xuống Luyện Ngục vì Chị nghĩ </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:17.0pt; color:black; ">rằng Cha trên trời sẽ đền bù tính phó thác của họ bằng cách ban cho họ ơn soi sáng trong giờ nguy tử, làm họ thấy những khốn nạn của mình mà sinh lòng ăn </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:17.0pt; color:black; ">năn thống hối trọn vẹn, do đó mọi nợ nần đều được xoá bỏ hết.</span></p><hr>

Vì Mẹ Agnès de Jésus và chị Marie du Sacré Coeur đã ở trong Hội Đồng rồi, nên người em út các chị không ở Hội Đồng được, tuy theo luật thì Chị có quyền. Vì thế Chị không hề lên tiếng hay am dự Hội nghị. Được trao nhiệm vụ huấn luyện chị em Nhà tập dưới quyền Mẹ Bề trên là người mang danh Bề trên Tập viện, Chị đã sống với chị em như là “niên trưởng” của họ cho tới ngày Chị qua đời.</span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:17.0pt; "> </span></p>

Chị coi thái độ đó như xâm hại tới quyền lợi Chúa. Chị cực lực phản đối thái độ sai lầm của phái vô vi (Quiétisme) (coi trang 53 của tập này). Chị sẽ sung sướng biết bao nếu được nghe những lời cương quyết của Đức Thánh Cha Piô XII trong Thông điệp ngày 23 tháng 12 năm 1949, trong đó Ngài than phiền vì có một số người coi tội lỗi chỉ là một sự yếu đuối, và coi yếu đuối như một nhân đức! Điều chị Têrêsa nhiều lần nhấn mạnh trong “Thuyết Ấu Nhi” (Petite Doctrine) của Chị là thụ tạo trước hết không được tin ở sức mình, dựa trên huân công cá nhân mình, trái lại phải tuyệt đối trông cậy vào ơn thánh siêu nhiên. Chỉ có sức thần trợ mới đủ khả năng hứng khởi, giúp đỡ cũng như làm các cố gắng nơi con người được triển nở và mang sinh lực lại cho thiện chí của ta.</span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:17.0pt; "> </span></p>

đã qua: Cho dầu chúng có nặng nề như tội phạm của người đàn bà Samaritana, như của thiếu phụ ngoại tình, của người trộm lành, hay như của người thiếu nữ tội lỗi trong hoang địa, thì ta cũng không thể yêu thích những lỗi lầm đó, mà phải hối hận và đề phòng kẻo tái hạm. Thay vì thất vọng hay kiêu kỳ phẫn nộ với mình, ta phải khiêm tốn lợi dụng hoàn cảnh đó, và thay vì tin ở mình thì ta tin ở Tình Yêu Từ Ái nhiều hơn, một lòng từ ái luôn thứ tha, nâng đỡ và ban phát chứa chan. Chị Têrêsa thêm vào đây lời bất hủ của Thánh Augustinô khi Ngài diễn giải và bổ túc cho tư tưởng thánh Phaolô: “Tất cả đều trở nên tốt hảo cho ai yêu mến Thiên Chúa, cho dầu tội lỗi cũng vậy”.<br>
