Nhờ được trí nhớ dẻo dai nên Chị dễ dàng ghi nhận những điều Chị đọc hay nghe nói. Chị còn biết áp dụng đúng lúc những nhận xét chính xác và cả những giai thoại nhỏ mọn nữa. Đặc biệt là Chị hấp thụ được những đoạn Kinh Thánh cách mau lẹ và chắc chắn trong Kinh Thánh, là kho tàng thật quý giá đối với Chị khi đã vào Dòng. Chị khám phá ra ý nghĩa ẩn tàng trong đó và biết áp dụng một cách thật lạ lùng.Tôi chép khá nhiều đoạn trong Cựu Ước, và tôi đưa cho Chị dùng. Những đoạn này biến thành món ăn bổ ích trong các giờ Chị suy nguyện. </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; "> </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; "><br>
<span style="color:black; "> Chị tìm hiểu Chúa để như khám phá ra “đặc tính của Chúa”. Và để được như ý thì không gì bằng nghiên cứu Sách Thánh, nhất là Phúc Âm. Bởi vậy Chị đã than phiền vì các bản dịch có những chỗ khác nhau </span><sup><span style="letter-spacing:-.35pt; color:#0056AC; ">65</span></sup><span style="color:black; ">.</span></span> <span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">Chị bảo tôi: “Nếu em là linh mục thì thế nào em cũng học tiếng Do Thái, </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">tiếng Hy Lạp để có thể đọc Lời Chúa cách trung thành, như Chúa đã thường </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">diễn tả bằng tiếng nói nhân loại”.</span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; "> </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">Chị mang sách Phúc Âm đêm ngày trên ngực và chú ý tìm những bản Phúc </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; "><span style="color:black; ">Âm xuất bản từng tập để đóng lại và để cho chúng tôi cũng được cái sung sướng </span><span style="color:black; ">như Chị.</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top:18.45pt;margin-right:0in;margin-bottom:0in;margin-left:13.5pt;line-height:200%;"><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:blue; ">Lòng mộ mến Chúa Ba Ngôi</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top:7.8pt;margin-right:0in;margin-bottom:0in;margin-left:13.5pt;text-align:justify;line-height:200%;"><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">Chị Têrêsa Hài Đồng Giêsu mộ mến Chúa Ba Ngôi cách đặc biệt. Chị ước ao </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">cho ngày lễ này được nâng lên bậc trọng hơn.</span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; "> </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">Khi tôi còn ở ngoài đời, Chị định gọi tôi là Marie Thiên Chúa Ba Ngôi </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; "><span style="color:black; ">(Marie de la Trinité) trước khi chọn cho tôi tên Marie Nhan Thánh (Marie de la </span><span style="color:black; ">Sainte Face) mà tôi đã mang mấy tháng khi mới vào Dòng. Nhưng một chị Nhà </span><span style="color:black; ">tập khác đã được mang tên đó (tức là tên Marie Thiên Chúa Ba Ngôi) và Têrêsa </span><span style="color:black; ">rất lấy làm an ủi.</span></span> <span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">Chính trong ngày kính lễ Đức Chúa Trời Ba Ngôi, hôm 9.6.1895, Chị đã </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; "><span style="color:black; ">được cảm hứng dâng mình làm hiến tế đền tạ Tình Yêu Dung Thứ của Chúa </span><sup><span style="color:#0056AC; ">66</span></sup><span style="color:black; ">.</span></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top:6.8pt;margin-right:0in;margin-bottom:0in;margin-left:13.5pt;text-align:justify;line-height:200%;"><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">Ngày kia tôi vào phòng Chị và thật ngỡ ngàng trước thái độ Chị chăm chú hồi </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; "><span style="color:black; ">tâm. Chị may và nhanh nhẹn mà vẫn như chìm đắm trong cuộc chiêm ngắm sâu </span><span style="color:black; ">xa:</span></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top:0in;margin-right:0in;margin-bottom:0in;margin-left:13.5pt;text-align:justify;line-height:200%;"><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">Trong thời gian Chị bệnh, Chị thường dùng một tiếng khác để gọi Chúa, đó </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">là tiếng “Ba” (Papa). Chúng tôi bật lên cười, nhưng Chị nói giọng cảm động:</span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; "> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top:0in;margin-right:0in;margin-bottom:0in;margin-left:13.5pt;text-align:justify;line-height:200%;"><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">- Ồ đúng thế! Ngài đúng là “Ba em” và em thấy êm dịu khi dùng tiếng “Ba” </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">để gọi Ngài.</span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; "> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top:18.45pt;margin-right:0in;margin-bottom:0in;margin-left:13.5pt;line-height:200%;"><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:blue; ">Thân mật với Chúa Giêsu</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top:7.8pt;margin-right:0in;margin-bottom:0in;margin-left:13.5pt;line-height:200%;"><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">Chúa Giêsu là tất cả trong tâm hồn Chị. Khi viết về Chúa Giêsu Kitô, Chị luôn </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; "><span style="color:black; ">viết tiếng “Ngài” (Lui, II) bằng chữ hoa để tỏ lòng cung kính bản vị đáng tôn thờ. </span><br>
<span style="color:black; "> Chị hỏi tôi:</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top:0in;margin-right:0in;margin-bottom:0in;margin-left:13.5pt;text-align:justify;line-height:200%;"><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">- Trong khi cầu nguyện với Chúa Giêsu, chị thích gọi Ngài bằng “tu” hay </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">bằng “vous?”</span><sup><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:#0056AC; ">67</span></sup><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">.</span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; "> </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">Tôi trả lời là thích dùng tiếng “tu” hơn. Chị nói tiếp giọng đầy an ủi:</span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; "> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top:.1in;margin-right:0in;margin-bottom:0in;margin-left:13.5pt;text-align:justify;line-height:200%;"><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">- Em cũng thế, em thích gọi Chúa Giêsu là “Tu”, tiếng này diễn tả đầy đủ hơn </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">lòng em yêu Chúa, và bao giờ em cũng dùng tiếng này khi một mình thưa </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">chuyện với Chúa, nhưng trong các bài thơ em sáng tác và trong những kinh có </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">cả người khác đọc, em không dám dùng tiếng này.</span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; "> </span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top:6.8pt;margin-right:0in;margin-bottom:0in;margin-left:13.5pt;text-align:justify;line-height:200%;"><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">Đối với Chị Têrêsa Hài Đồng Giêsu thì lòng ái mộ này là cứu cánh và là sự triển </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; "><span style="color:black; ">nở trọn hảo của tình yêu Chị đối với Nhân Tính Chúa Giêsu. Nhan Thánh Chúa </span><span style="color:black; ">chính là tấm gương trong đó Chị nhìn thấy Linh Hồn và Tấm lòng của Đấng Chị </span><span style="color:black; ">yêu mến, là nơi Chị chiêm ngắm toàn thể Chúa Giêsu. Cũng vì thế mà tấm hình </span><span style="color:black; ">chỉ có nguyên khuôn mặt của người yêu cũng đủ làm ta thấy người đó hiện diện </span><span style="color:black; ">rồi.</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top:0in;margin-right:0in;margin-bottom:0in;margin-left:13.5pt;text-align:justify;line-height:200%;"><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">Có thể nói được lòng ái mộ Nhan Thánh Chúa đã hướng dẫn đời sống thiêng </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; "><span style="color:black; ">liêng Chị. Nếu ta muốn có một kỷ niệm chính đáng về những tâm tình đạo đức </span><span style="color:black; ">nơi Chị, thì ta phải nhận rằng lòng sùng kính Nhan Thánh vượt trên các tâm </span><span style="color:black; ">tình đạo đức khác, lý do vì sự sùng kính này gồm tóm các sự sùng kính khác.</span></span></p>

Không khi </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">nào định làm việc gì quan trọng mà Chị không xin dâng Lễ theo ý đó. Chị cầu xin với Thánh Cả Giuse để thay đổi được thói quen này. Có lần bình đựng Mình Thánh </span><span style="color:black; ">lau chưa cẩn thận đủ, nên Chị gọi khá nhiều chị em Nhà tập đến để theo Chị ra </span><span style="color:black; ">nhà nguyện và Chị đặt bình đựng Mình Thánh ở đây với lòng vui sướng và cung </span><span style="color:black; ">kính khôn tả.</span></span></p>

Chị coi </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">mình được đặc ân như Đức Trinh Nữ vậy, vì Chị cũng đã mang Chúa Giêsu Bé </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">Thơ trên cánh tay.</span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; "> </span></p>

Đây quả thực là công trình do đức vâng lời tạo nên, vì Chị chỉ </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">biết sơ sài về thuật hội hoạ </span><sup><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:#0056AC; ">71</span></sup><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">, lại vừa không phải người có thiên tài, vừa phải leo </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">lên thang mới vẽ được, cộng thêm là thiếu ánh sáng tới nỗi một nhà danh hoạ </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">cũng khó thành công. Thế mà Chị đã hoàn thành cách khả quan! Vào </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">tháng 6 năm 1897, cảm thấy mình quá ốm yếu, Chị bảo tôi:</span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; "> </span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top:6.8pt;margin-right:0in;margin-bottom:0in;margin-left:13.5pt;text-align:justify;line-height:200%;"><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">Chị Têrêsa lấy làm sung sướng được cử trang hoàng tượng Chúa Giêsu Bé Thơ </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">đặt trong Nhà Dòng và Chị đã cẩn thận chu toàn nhiệm vụ đó. Chị sơn tượng </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">màu hồng và luôn trang hoàng bằng những hoa màu sắc tươi vui, có những con </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">chim nhỏ nhồi bằng rơm, màu lông óng ánh ở bên tượng.</span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; "> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top:0in;margin-right:0in;margin-bottom:0in;margin-left:13.5pt;text-align:justify;line-height:200%;"><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">Vào mùa hạ, từ trưa đến một giờ là thời gian im lặng và tự do nên thay vì </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; "><span style="color:black; ">nằm nghỉ, Chị đã dành một phần để trang hoàng Chúa Giêsu Nhỏ của Chị. </span><span style="color:black; ">Nhưng trong Dòng vào mùa này lại hiếm hoa! Thật là cực lòng cho một người có </span><span style="color:black; ">tâm hồn như Chị mà lại khép mình trong Dòng ngay từ 15 tuổi không thể tung </span><span style="color:black; ">tăng ngoài đồng nội để kiếm lấy một cánh hoa mao lượng! Nhưng Chúa Giêsu </span><span style="color:black; ">đã tự cung cấp hoa cho Chị. Chị thuật lại cho tôi mẩu chuyện sau đây:</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top:0in;margin-right:0in;margin-bottom:0in;margin-left:13.5pt;text-align:justify;line-height:200%;"><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">Mùa hạ đầu tiên khi Chị vào Dòng Kín, Chị tự bảo: “Từ nay tôi không bao </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; "><span style="color:black; ">giờ được ngắm những bông hoa đồng nữa: nào cúc vàng, cúc trắng, nào hoa mào </span><span style="color:black; ">gà, nào lúa kiều mạch, lúa mì bát ngát!…, và thực sự Chị nôn nao buồn, đúng lúc</span></span> <span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">ấy nữ tu giữ cửa trao cho Mẹ Bề trên một bó hoa đồng tuyệt đẹp, gồm các thứ </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">hoa Têrêsa mơ ước. Chị ở Dòng ngoài thấy bó hoa đặt trên cửa sổ phòng Chị mà </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">không hiểu từ đâu mang tới. Mẹ Bề trên tuy không hay biết gì nỗi khổ tâm của </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">Têrêsa cũng đã trao cho Chị để trang hoàng tượng Chúa Giêsu Bé Thơ.</span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; "> </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">Từ ngày đó, không bao giờ Chị thiếu hoa đồng cả.</span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; "> </span></p>

Sau này khi Chị </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">bị bệnh, Chị lấy hoa hồng phủ đầy lên tượng Chịu Nạn, cẩn thận vứt bỏ những </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">cánh hoa úa héo</span><sup><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:#0056AC; ">72</span></sup><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">. Có lần tôi thấy Chị lấy đầu ngón tay vuốt nhẹ trên mão gai và </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">đinh tượng Chịu Nạn, tôi hỏi: “Chị làm gì đó?”. Một chút ngỡ ngàng vì bị thấy </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">quả tang, Chị thú: “Em tháo đinh và cất mão gai đi cho Chúa”.</span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; "> </span></p>

Không có tên dịch giả) “Thánh Vịnh dịch từ tiếng Do Thái”. goài ra Chị còn có những bản Kinh Thánh đúng nghĩa, như bản dịch sách Nguyện Bréviaires đọc hằng ngày trong nhà cơm, cuốn Thần Thánh viết bằng tiếng Latinh-Pháp, Sách Hát lễ và những cuốn khác có trích nhiều Kinh Thánh, như cuốn Năm Phụng vụ của Dom Guéranger, những tác phẩm của Thánh Gioan Thánh Giá… Sự khảo sát những đoạn Thánh Nữ trích dẫn Cựu Ước và Tân Ước cho ta thấy rõ là Thánh Nữ đã dùng những nguồn tài liệu khác nhau.</span></p>
