Run rẩy yếu nhược, Chị gọi chúng tôi đến cứu… Toàn </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">thân Chị đau nhức dữ dội. Chị đặt một tay lên vai Mẹ Agnès de Jésus, một tay </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">lên vai tôi, và cứ dang tay hình thánh giá như thế. Lúc đó đồng hồ đánh ba tiếng, </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">ý nghĩ về Chúa chịu đóng đinh chợt hiện lên trong trí chúng tôi: Vị tử đạo nhỏ </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">bé đáng thương của chúng tôi đây không là hình ảnh sống động sao?</span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; "> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top:1.2pt;margin-bottom:0in;text-align:justify;line-height:200%;"><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">Một lúc sau, cơn hấp hối bắt đầu, giờ thử thách này kéo dài thật kinh khủng. </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">Chúng tôi nghe Chị nói:</span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; "> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top:1.2pt;margin-bottom:0in;text-align:justify;line-height:200%;"><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">- Ôi! Đây mới là sự đau đớn hoàn toàn! Không có lấy một chút an ủi nào. </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">Phải, không có chút an ủi nào cả!</span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; "> </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">“Ôi lạy Chúa! Tuy thế, con mến Chúa… Lạy Đức Nữ Trinh nhân lành, xin </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">thương đến giúp con!</span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; "> </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">“Nếu hấp hối mà còn như thế này thì sự chết sẽ ra sao?… Ôi Mẹ! <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top:1.2pt;margin-bottom:0in;text-align:justify;line-height:200%;"><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">“Không, con không bao giờ tin rằng người ta có thể chịu đau đớn được như </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">thế!… Không bao giờ, không bao giờ!</span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; "> </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">Con chỉ có thể diễn tả bằng ước vọng nhiệt thành muốn cứu các linh hồn. </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">Ngày mai có lẽ còn ghê gớm hơn! Nhưng không sao, càng tốt!”. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top:1.2pt;margin-bottom:0in;text-align:justify;line-height:200%;"><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; "> Những câu nói đó bị đứt quãng và tha thiết nhưng luôn cho thấy tinh thần chịu đựng của Chị thật phi thường. Mẹ Bề trên cho gọi cả nhà dòng tới. Chị Têrêsa dịu dàng cười tiếp đón chị em, rồi ôm chặt Thánh giá trong tay, Chị để mặc cho đau đớn giày vò, không nói gì. Chị thở dồn dập, mồ hôi lạnh ra ướt đẫm cả mặt. Quần áo và chăn của Chị cũng sũng mồ hôi… Và Chị run rẩy … </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; "><br>
<span style="color:black; "> Khi còn đang bệnh, Chị Têrêsa Hài Đồng Giêsu bảo chúng tôi:</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top:1.2pt;margin-bottom:0in;text-align:justify;line-height:200%;"><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">- Các chị ơi, khi hấp hối nếu cái nhìn sau cùng của em dừng lại trên chị này </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">mà bỏ chị kia thì xin các chị đừng buồn. Em không biết mình sẽ hành động ra </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">sao, nhưng đó là điều Chúa muốn. Nếu Chúa cho em chọn thì cái nhìn sau cùng </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">của em sẽ hướng về Mẹ chúng ta vì người là Mẹ Bề trên.</span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; "> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top:1.2pt;margin-bottom:0in;text-align:justify;line-height:200%;"><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">Vậy mà trong cơn hấp hối, vài phút trước khi Chị qua đời, tôi đặt lên môi </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">Chị một miếng nước đá nhỏ, lúc đó Chị nở nụ cười thật hiền dịu với tôi và nhìn </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">tôi bằng cái nhìn tha thiết như muốn xuyên thấu tương lai.</span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; "> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top:1.2pt;margin-bottom:0in;text-align:justify;line-height:200%;"><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">Cái nhìn của Chị thật âu yếm, diễn tả một cái gì siêu nhiên để khích lệ và </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">hứa hẹn, như thế Chị bảo tôi:</span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; "> </span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top:1.2pt;margin-bottom:0in;text-align:justify;line-height:200%;"><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">(Không hiểu lúc đó Chúa có mạc khải cho Chị biết nhiệm vụ nặng nề lâu dài </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">tôi phải đảm nhiệm vì Chị sau này trên trần không, và không biết Ngài có muốn </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">dùng cái nhìn đó để yên ủi cuộc sống lưu đày của tôi không? Vì kỷ niệm của cái </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">nhìn sau cùng, cái nhìn mà mọi người khao khát, - thế mà tôi lại được Chị dành </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">cho, luôn nâng đỡ tôi và là sức mạnh lớn lao cho tôi).</span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; "> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top:1.2pt;margin-bottom:0in;text-align:justify;line-height:200%;"><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">Tất cả nhà dòng rung động thổn thức, nhưng bỗng Chị đưa mắt tìm Mẹ Bề </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">trên đang quỳ bên cạnh, cái nhìn xa vời biểu lộ sự đau đớn như Chị đã chịu trước </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">đây.</span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; "> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top:1.2pt;margin-bottom:0in;text-align:justify;line-height:200%;"><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">Vài phút sau, Mẹ Bề trên tưởng cơn hấp hối còn kéo dài nên cho các chị tạm </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">lui. Con bệnh quay lại hỏi Mẹ:</span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; "> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top:1.2pt;margin-bottom:0in;text-align:justify;line-height:200%;"><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">- Thưa Mẹ, đây không phải là cơn hấp hối ư? Con chưa sắp chết hay sao? </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; "><span style="color:black; ">Và khi Mẹ trả lời rằng cơn hấp hối còn kéo dài, Chị êm đềm than thở:</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top:1.2pt;margin-bottom:0in;text-align:justify;line-height:200%;"><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">- Vâng!… được… được… ôi! Con không muốn khổ đau giảm bớt! Rồi nhìn thánh giá:</span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; "> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top:0in;margin-right:274.25pt;margin-bottom:0in;margin-left:4.5pt;text-align:justify;line-height:200%;"><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">“ÔI… CON YÊU CHÚA!… LẠY CHÚA CON… YÊU… CHÚA!!!”</span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; "> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top:1.2pt;margin-bottom:0in;text-align:justify;line-height:200%;"><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">Đây là những lời sau cùng của Chị. Vừa nói dứt lời đó, trước sự ngỡ ngàng </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">của chúng tôi, Chị thình lình gục xuống, ngả đầu về bên phải. Rồi đột nhiên </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">ngửng lên như nghe thấy tiếng nói huyền nhiệm nào đó, Chị mở mắt và hướng </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">cái nhìn sáng ngời về phía tượng Đức Mẹ làm phép lạ một chút. Cái nhìn kéo dài </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">vài phút, lâu bằng thời gian đủ để đọc chậm kinh Tin Kính.</span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; "> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top:1.2pt;margin-bottom:0in;text-align:justify;line-height:200%;"><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">Từ đó, tôi hay tìm cách phân tích giây phút xuất thần ấy, giây phút được diễn </span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">tả qua cái nhìn còn sống động hơn cả cái nhìn diễm phúc.</span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; "> </span></p>
