Một mặt, họ bị đau khổ vì các quỷ dữ. Đến giờ chết, những thần dữ cố sức bắt lấy con mồi sắp lìa thế. Thần dữ biết rõ rằng: chúng cần đánh thắng trong khoảng khắc, vì lần này để mất mồi, tức là mất mãi mãi.</span></p>

Bao năm qua, mầy đã bịt tai lại không nghe tiếng Chúa, nay mầy còn mong gì Chúa thương mầy.”</em></strong></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:0cm;text-align:justify;text-indent:36.0pt;line-height:150%;"><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">Đứa khác: <strong><em>“Bao lần mầy làm hư phép giải-tội vì không ăn-năn hối-cải, vì dấu-diếm đầu đuôi, sao mầy còn mong sửa chữa được?”</em></strong></span></p>

Thánh Bênađô nói: <strong><em>“Các tội-lỗi họ như những người lính gác, theo sát họ và bảo: Chúng tôi không rời ngươi đâu. Chúng tôi theo sát ngươi về bên kia thế giới và đi với ngươi trình-diện trước Đấng thẩm-phán đời đời.”</em></strong></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:0cm;text-align:justify;text-indent:36.0pt;line-height:150%;"><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">Kẻ sắp chết muốn loại trừ các địch-thù đó, nhưng chúng đâu có buông tha. Thánh Bênađô nói thêm: <strong><em>“Những tâm-hồn chai đá vì tội-lỗi suốt đời, khó thoát cảnh trầm-luân, vì đã yêu tội tức là tội-nhân cũng yêu cảnh hiểm nghèo đoán phạt, mà họ đã lựa chọn cho đến giờ chết.”</em></strong></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:0cm;text-align:justify;text-indent:36.0pt;line-height:150%;"><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; ">Thật bất hạnh cho những người cứng lòng chống lại tiếng Chúa mời gọi.</span></p>

Xin đừng bỏ rơi con. Con biết rằng hồn con đầy thương-tích tội-lỗi, nhiều nét xấu vây bọc con. Con sấp mình duới chân Chúa, xin Chúa thương con và cứu thoát con khỏi các tội ác: “Lạy Chúa, con đặt hy-vọng vào Chúa. Xin đừng ghét con.”</span></em><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; "> </span></p>

Con thú nhận con đã phạm tội nhiều. Xin Chúa ẳm con trong cánh tay Chúa. Chúa đã bao lần kêu gọi con, con không dám chống lại lời kêu gọi của Chúa nữa.</span></em><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:18.0pt; color:black; "> </span></p>
