Người đứng dậy để đọc sách. Người ta trao cho Người sách tiên tri Isaia. Mở sách ra, Người gặp ngay đoạn chép rằng: "Thánh Thần Chúa ngự trên tôi, vì Ngài xức dầu cho tôi, sai tôi đi rao giảng Tin Mừng cho người nghèo khó, thuyên chữa những tâm hồn sám hối, loan truyền sự giải thoát cho kẻ bị giam cầm, cho người mù được trông thấy, trả tự do cho những kẻ bị áp bức, công bố năm hồng ân và ngày khen thưởng".</span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:20.0pt; color:#002060; "> </span></p>

Mọi người trong hội đường đều chăm chú nhìn Người. Người bắt đầu nói với họ: "Hôm nay ứng nghiệm đoạn Kinh Thánh mà tai các ngươi vừa nghe". Mọi người đều làm chứng cho Người và thán phục Người về những lời từ miệng Người thốt ra, và họ nói: "Người này không phải là con ông Giuse sao?"</span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:20.0pt; color:#002060; "> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:0in;text-align:justify;line-height:200%;"><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:20.0pt; color:#002060; ">Và Người nói với họ: "Hẳn các ngươi sắp nói cho Ta nghe câu ngạn ngữ này: "Hỡi thầy thuốc, hãy chữa lấy chính mình"; "điều chúng tôi nghe xảy ra ở Capharnaum, ông hãy làm như vậy tại quê hương ông". Người nói tiếp: "Ta bảo thật các ngươi, không một tiên tri nào được đón tiếp tại quê hương mình. Ta bảo thật các ngươi, đã có nhiều bà goá trong Israel thời Êlia, khi trời bị đóng lại trong ba năm sáu tháng, khi nạn đói lớn xảy ra khắp trong xứ; dầu vậy, Êlia không được sai đến cùng một người nào trong các bà đó, nhưng được sai đến bà goá tại Sarepta thuộc xứ Siđon. Cũng có nhiều người phong cùi trong Israel thời tiên tri Êlisêô, thế mà không người nào trong họ được lành sạch cả, ngoại trừ Naaman, người Syria".</span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:20.0pt; color:#002060; "> </span></p>

Họ dẫn Người lên triền núi, nơi xây cất thành trì của họ, để xô Người xuống vực thẳm. Nhưng Người rẽ qua giữa họ mà đi.</span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:20.0pt; color:#002060; "> </span></p>

Với tình cảm thân thiện chân thành, Ngài vào hội đường chia sẻ Kinh Thánh với anh em đồng hương của Ngài. Qua đoạn sách tiên tri Isaia, Ngài thẳng thắn tuyên bố lời sấm nay đã ứng nghiệm nơi Ngài. Người thành Nazarét rất thán phục ân sủng và sự khôn ngoan của Đức Giêsu. Nhưng họ cũng không thể chấp nhận Đức Giêsu với lời tuyên bố kia. Vì thực tế, thân thế Ngài quá bình thường. Hơn nữa họ không điều khiển được Ngài làm những điều như họ mong muốn. Vì không được như ý, họ đầy căm phẫn và định thủ tiêu Ngài.</span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:20.0pt; color:#002060; "> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:0in;text-align:justify;line-height:200%;"><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:20.0pt; color:#002060; ">Đức Giêsu vừa yêu quê hương trần thế, vừa yêu Cha trên trời. Tuy nhiên Cha vẫn là trên hết. Không tình cảm nào, không thân thiết nào, không một điều gì có thể làm Ngài chống lại ý Cha.</span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:20.0pt; color:#002060; "> </span></p>

Trong Chúa luôn có sự sáng suốt và quân bình. Tình cảm quê hương thân thích không vì thế làm Chúa trái ý Chúa Cha. Chúa chấp nhận tất cả dù phải hy sinh đến tính mạng, miễn là ý Cha nên trọn. Xin Chúa dạy chúng con cũng biết yêu Cha tha thiết, để với tình yêu mãnh liệt, chúng con cũng dám khước từ tất cả. Có Cha là đủ cho chúng con rồi.
