Phàm ai yêu thương, thì đã được Thiên Chúa sinh ra, và người ấy biết Thiên Chúa. Ai không yêu thương, thì không biết Thiên Chúa, vì Thiên Chúa là tình yêu. Tình yêu của Thiên Chúa đối với chúng ta được biểu lộ như thế này : Thiên Chúa đã sai Con Một đến thế gian để nhờ Con Một của Người mà chúng ta được sống. Tình yêu cốt ở điều này : không phải chúng ta đã yêu mến Thiên Chúa, nhưng chính Người đã yêu thương chúng ta, và sai Con của Người đến làm của lễ đền tội cho chúng ta.</span></p>

Thiên Chúa chưa ai được chiêm ngưỡng bao giờ. Nếu chúng ta yêu thương nhau, thì Thiên Chúa ở lại trong chúng ta, và tình yêu của Người nơi chúng ta mới nên hoàn hảo. Căn cứ vào điều này, chúng ta biết được rằng chúng ta ở lại trong Người và Người ở lại trong chúng ta : đó là Người đã ban Thần Khí của Người cho chúng ta. Phần chúng tôi, chúng tôi đã chiêm ngưỡng và làm chứng rằng : Chúa Cha đã sai Con của Người đến làm Đấng cứu độ thế gian. Hễ ai tuyên xưng Đức Giê-su là Con Thiên Chúa, thì Thiên Chúa ở lại trong người ấy và người ấy ở lại trong Thiên Chúa. Còn chúng ta, chúng ta đã biết tình yêu của Thiên Chúa nơi chúng ta, và đã tin vào tình yêu đó. Khi hay tin Chúa Giêsu đến, Martha đi đón Người, còn Maria vẫn ngồi nhà. Martha thưa Chúa Giêsu: "Thưa Thầy, nếu Thầy có mặt ở đây thì em con không chết. Tuy nhiên, ngay cả bây giờ, con biết Thầy xin gì cùng Thiên Chúa, Thiên Chúa cũng sẽ ban cho Thầy". Chúa Giêsu nói: "Em con sẽ sống lại". Martha thưa: "Con biết ngày tận thế, khi kẻ chết sống lại, thì em con sẽ sống lại". Chúa Giêsu nói: "Ta là sự sống lại và là sự sống, ai tin Ta, dầu có chết cũng sẽ được sống. Và kẻ nào sống mà tin Ta, sẽ không chết bao giờ. Con có tin điều đó không?" Bà thưa: "Thưa Thầy: vâng, con đã tin Thầy là Ðấng Kitô, Con Thiên Chúa hằng sống đã đến trong thế gian".</span></p>

Bà có người em gái tên là Maria ngồi bên chân Chúa mà nghe lời Người. Martha bận rộn với việc thết đãi khách. Bà đứng lại thưa Người rằng: "Lạy Thầy, em con để con hầu hạ một mình mà Thầy không quan tâm sao? Xin Thầy bảo em con giúp con với". Nhưng Chúa đáp: "Martha, Martha, con lo lắng bối rối về nhiều chuyện. Chỉ có một sự cần mà thôi: Maria đã chọn phần tốt nhất, và sẽ không bị ai lấy mất".</span></p>

Từ việc coi Đức Giêsu như một ngôn sứ đến việc tuyên xưng Thầy là Đức Kitô, Con Thiên Chúa.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top:9.0pt;margin-right:0in;margin-bottom:0in;margin-left:0in;text-align:justify;line-height:200%;background:white;"><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:20.0pt; color:#002060; ">Qua việc làm cho Lazarô sống lại, Đức Giêsu mạc khải chính Ngài là mục tử đem lại sự sống dồi dào cho dân. Điều kiện để đón nhận là ai sống và tin vào Thầy. Sau khi mạc khải Ngài là sự sống lại và là sự sống. Đức Giêsu hỏi Martha có xác tín vào điều đó không. Martha với câu trả lời rất xác quyết: “con vẫn tin”. “Con vẫn tin” nghĩa là trước đây con đã tin, hiện giờ con luôn tin và sau này lòng tin của con vào Thầy vẫn không thay đổi.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top:9.0pt;margin-right:0in;margin-bottom:0in;margin-left:0in;text-align:justify;line-height:200%;background:white;"><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:20.0pt; color:#002060; ">Quả thật Martha biết Chúa, tin Chúa và yêu Chúa bằng tất cả tấm lòng yêu mến hết tình, tin tưởng và phó thác trọn vẹn. Cả trong những lúc buồn bã nhất như tình cảnh vừa mất một người thân, thì Martha vẫn biết, vẫn tin và vẫn một lòng yêu mến tín thác vào tình thương của Thầy Giêsu. Cuộc đối thoại rất thân tình chứng tỏ mối liên hệ giữa Chúa Giêsu và gia đình Bêtania rất keo sơn. Cuộc sống thường ngày của chúng ta, chúng ta đã gắn bó với Chúa ở mức độ nào ?</span></p>

Ngài mong ước trao ban cho chúng ta sự sống và tình yêu của Ngài. Để mỗi người chúng ta được sống và sống dồi dào. Thử hỏi chúng ta có tin và sẵn sàng đón nhận ? Để sự sống của Ngài được lớn mãi trong ta và tình yêu của Ngài được lan tỏa đến tha nhân.</span></p>

Xin Chúa cho con cũng biết làm chứng cho tình yêu Chúa bằng việc xả thân phục vụ anh em. Vì hy sinh phục vụ là một trong những nét đẹp của người môn đệ Chúa. Và chính Chúa cũng đã nêu gương cho chúng con trước. Chúa đến không phải để được phục vụ nhưng là để phục vụ.</span></p>

Xin Chúa ngày hôm nay cũng hãy phục hồi sự sống trong con. Sức sống của một người con Chúa mà nhiều lần con đã đánh mất vì thiếu niềm tin, thiếu tình yêu. Xác con còn sống nhưng hồn con thiếu bóng Chúa thì kể như con đã chết. Ước gì tình yêu Chúa luôn phủ lấp những khiếm khuyết trong con hầu giúp con hồi sinh và đổi mới. Amen</span></p>
