Ông lùa đoàn chiên qua sa mạc, đến núi Horeb là núi của Thiên Chúa. Thiên Chúa hiện ra với ông trong ngọn lửa cháy từ giữa bụi gai. Ông nhìn thấy bụi gai bốc lửa, nhưng không bị thiêu rụi. Môsê nói: "Ta hãy lại xem cảnh tượng kỳ lạ này, vì sao bụi gai không bị thiêu rụi?"</span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:20.0pt; color:#002060; "> </span></p>

Chúng ta đặt vấn đề: Tại sao Thiên Chúa lại đối nghịch với người khôn ngoan, thông thái? phải chăng Thiên Chúa ganh với họ? Hay phải chăng Thiên Chúa chỉ muốn con người kém cỏi, hèn mọn?</span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:20.0pt; color:#002060; "> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:0in;text-align:justify;line-height:200%;"><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:20.0pt; color:#002060; ">Thiên Chúa luôn yêu thương con người và muốn con người được hạnh phúc. Lại nữa, chúng ta phải xác tín: có gì tốt lành nơi chúng ta mà không bắt nguồn từ Thiên Chúa. Người được giàu có, kẻ được khôn ngoan đều là hồng ân của Thiên Chúa. Nhưng người khôn ngoan thông thái trong bài Tin Mừng nhằm diễn tả người kiêu căng. Họ tưởng họ không cần Thiên Chúa, vì tự họ có thể tìm được ơn cứu độ. Hạng người này bị Thiên Chúa loại trừ, hay nói đúng hơn vì họ không chịu đón nhận tình thương và mạc khải của Thiên Chúa.</span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:20.0pt; color:#002060; "> </span></p>
