Và vì chung một nghề, nên ngài cư trú và làm việc tại nhà họ: họ làm nghề dệt bố để làm nhà lều. Mỗi ngày Sabbat, ngài đến tranh luận tại hội đường, nêu danh Chúa Giêsu, thuyết phục người Do-thái và Hy-lạp.</span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:20.0pt; color:#002060; "> </span></p>

Nhưng họ công kích và lăng mạ Ngài, nên ngài dũ áo nói với họ: "Máu các ngươi đổ trên đầu các ngươi. Thật, Thầy bảo thật với các con: các con sẽ than van khóc lóc, còn thế gian sẽ vui mừng. <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:0in;text-align:justify;line-height:200%;"><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:20.0pt; color:#002060; ">Đức Giêsu nói: "Anh em sẽ khóc lóc than van, còn thế gian sẽ vui mừng". Đức Giêsu báo trước viễn cảnh cuộc khổ nạn của Ngài. Trước bản án thập giá của Đức Giêsu, thủ lãnh thế gian tưởng rằng mình đã chiến thắng, còn các môn đệ thì buồn sầu vì sự thất bại của Thầy mình. Nhưng chiến thắng của thế gian không phải là chiến thắng cuối cùng, và thất bại của Đức Giêsu cũng không phải là thất bại sau hết. Nơi tận cùng của cái chết là bắt đầu đi vào cuộc sống và chiến thắng vĩnh cửu: Ngài toàn thắng tội lỗi, sự chết và phục sinh vinh quang.</span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:20.0pt; color:#002060; "> </span></p>
