Bấy giờ có nhóm người kia thuộc hội đường mệnh danh là "của những người Tự Do, người Xirênê và Alexandria", và những người khác từ xứ Cilicia và Tiểu Á, đã nổi dậy. Họ tranh luận với Têphanô, nhưng họ không thể đương đầu với sự khôn ngoan và Thánh Thần vẫn giúp cho ông nói. Họ xúi giục một số người nói lên rằng: "Chúng ta đã nghe nó nói những lời lộng ngôn phạm đến Môsê và Thiên Chúa". Họ xách động dân chúng, các kỳ lão và luật sĩ; rồi họ tuôn đến bắt Têphanô điệu tới công nghị. Nhưng có nhiều thuyền khác từ Tibêria đến gần nơi dân chúng đã được ăn bánh. Đức Giêsu dạy họ hãy lao công đừng vì lương thực hư nát, đừng vì những của cải phù hoa chóng qua - nay còn mai mất, nhưng hãy lao công vào việc của Thiên Chúa là tin vào "Đấng được sai đến".</span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:20.0pt; color:#002060; "> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:0in;text-align:justify;line-height:200%;"><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:20.0pt; color:#002060; ">Trong cuộc sống, chúng ta có rất nhiều mối lo toan: lo cho bản thân, lo cho gia đình: lo trau dồi kiến thức, lo luyện tập tài năng; lo cơm không đủ ăn, lo áo không đủ mặc; lo cho ngày nay, lo cho ngày mai... Chúng ta mất bao nhiêu thời giờ, bao nhiêu công sức để lo cuộc sống vật chất đời này. Nhưng thử hỏi chúng ta đã dành bao nhiêu thời giờ cho cuộc sống vĩnh cửu?</span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:20.0pt; color:#002060; "> </span></p>

Nhiều lúc chúng con đã quên đi và hầu như tưởng trần gian này là quê hương đích thực. Một ngày với hai mươi bốn tiếng đồng hồ, chúng con dành gần hết thời gian cho cuộc sống hôm nay mà chúng con vẫn cho là ít. Còn thời gian dành cho Chúa, cho cuộc sống mai sau, dù chỉ một chút, chúng con đã cảm thấy quá nhiều. Xin Chúa cho chúng con có một ý thức đúng đắn cuộc sống hôm nay là chuẩn bị cho cuộc sống mai sau. Chúng con luôn biết tìm vinh danh Chúa và ơn cứu độ cho chúng con.
