Dân chúng đi đường xa mệt nhọc, nên nản chí, kêu trách Chúa và Môsê rằng: "Tại sao các người dẫn chúng tôi ra khỏi Ai-cập, cho chúng tôi chết trong hoang địa. Xin ông cầu nguyện để Chúa cho chúng tôi khỏi rắn cắn". Môsê cầu nguyện cho dân. Và Chúa phán cùng Môsê rằng: "Ngươi hãy đúc một con rắn đồng và treo nó lên làm dấu; kẻ nào bị rắn cắn mà nhìn lên rắn đồng, thì được sống". Các ông thuộc về thế gian này; còn Ta, Ta không thuộc về thế gian này. Ta đã nói: Các ông sẽ chết trong tội các ông. Vì, nếu các ông không tin Ta, các ông sẽ chết trong tội của các ông".</span><span style="font-family:'Calibri Light',sans-serif; font-size:12.0pt; color:#002060; "> </span></p>

Chúa Giêsu trả lời: "Là Nguyên thuỷ đang nói với các ông đây! Ta có nhiều điều phải nói và đoán xét về các ông, nhưng Ðấng đã sai Ta là Ðấng chân thật, và điều Ta nói ra trong thế gian đây, chính là điều Ta đã nghe biết ở Ngài".</span><span style="font-family:'Calibri Light',sans-serif; font-size:12.0pt; color:#002060; "> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:0in;text-align:justify;line-height:200%;"><span style="font-family:'Calibri Light',sans-serif; font-size:20.0pt; color:#002060; ">Nhưng họ không hiểu là Người nói về Chúa Cha, vì thế Chúa Giêsu nói: "Khi nào các ông đưa Con Người lên cao, các ông sẽ nhận biết Ta là ai. Ta không tự mình làm điều gì. Ðiều Ta nói, chính là điều Chúa Cha đã dạy Ta. Ðấng đã sai Ta đang ở với Ta; Ngài không để Ta một mình, bởi vì Ta luôn luôn làm điều đẹp lòng Ngài". Khi Người nói những điều ấy thì có nhiều kẻ tin vào Người.</span><span style="font-family:'Calibri Light',sans-serif; font-size:12.0pt; color:#002060; "> </span></p>

Ai không tin Ðức Giêsu, thì không thể đến được với Thiên Chúa Cha là nguồn hạnh phúc và ơn cứu độ. Vì chính Ðức Giêsu là hiện thân của Thiên Chúa. Ngài đã nên giống chúng con hoàn toàn và sẵn sàng chấp nhận bị treo lên để làm dấu chỉ ơn cứu độ cho chúng con. Ngài cũng dạy cho chúng con nhận biết Cha. Nơi Người chứa chan hoan lạc, yêu thương. Nếu đem những kiến thức đất thấp tìm hiểu về Đấng từ trời cao mà tới, thì chẳng bao giờ có thể hiểu thấu được. Ngày Người treo lên, người ta sẽ biết Người Hằng hữu. Quả vậy, khi Người vừa trút Thần khí ra khỏi xác phàm, trời đất rung chuyển, u ám, nhiều người bật mồ sống lại, nhất là, sau khi an táng Người trong mồ đá, tới ngày thứ ba, Người sống lại, hiện ra với nhiều người, và ban lệnh cho các Tông đồ đi rao giảng Lời Người, ai tin thì được cứu.</span><span style="font-family:'Calibri Light',sans-serif; font-size:12.0pt; color:#002060; "> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:0in;text-align:justify;line-height:200%;"><span style="font-family:'Calibri Light',sans-serif; font-size:20.0pt; color:#002060; ">Lạy Chúa, qua Lời Chúa giảng, qua việc Chúa làm, nhất là biến cố phi thường giây phút Chúa trút Thần khi ra khỏi xác phàm, và mạnh mẽ hơn hết, việc Chúa Phục sinh từ cõi chết sau ba ngày trong mộ đá, cho chúng con niềm tin xác đáng: Chúa là Thiên Chúa Hằng hữu, Toàn năng, Toàn ái. Xin Chúa luôn xót thương chúng con, những đứa con ngu si, yếu hèn, bất lực.
