Động lòng thương, Chúa Giêsu giơ tay đặt trên người ấy và nói: "Ta muốn, anh hãy khỏi bệnh". Tức thì bệnh cùi biến mất và người ấy được sạch. Nhưng Người nghiêm nghị bảo anh đi ngay và dặn rằng: "Anh hãy ý tứ đừng nói cho ai biết, một hãy đi trình diện cùng trưởng tế và dâng của lễ theo luật Môsê để minh chứng mình đã được khỏi bệnh". Nhưng đi khỏi, người ấy liền cao rao và loan truyền tin đó, nên Chúa Giêsu không thể công khai vào thành nào được. Người dừng lại ở ngoài thành, trong những nơi vắng vẻ, và người ta từ khắp nơi tuôn đến cùng Người.</span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:20.0pt; color:#002060; "> </span></p>

<p style="margin:0in;text-align:justify;line-height:200%;"><span style="font-size:18.0pt; color:#002060; ">Phong hủi đối với người Do thái là chứng bệnh ghê tởm, nhơ uế. Bệnh nhân phải tuyệt thông với mọi người. Ai tiếp xúc với họ cũng bị coi là ô nhơ. Vì thế người phong hủi thường ở những nơi cách biệt. Nếu đi đến đâu họ phải la lớn để mọi người biết mà tránh xa. Thân phận người phong hủi thật đáng buồn tủi. Bài Tin Mừng hôm nay cho biết người phong hủi dám đến và xin Đức Giêsu chữa lành. Điều đó chứng tỏ bệnh nhân có một niềm xác tín vào Đức Giêsu. Đức Giêsu vừa quyền phép lại vừa rất yêu thương. Đến với Ngài, chắc chắn sẽ không phải thất vọng.</span><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman',serif; font-size:20.0pt; color:#002060; "> </span></p>

Chúa không gớm ghét thân phận tội lỗi của loài người chúng con. Chúa càng yêu thương bệnh nhân bao nhiêu, Chúa càng phẫn nộ với bệnh tật bấy nhiêu. Xin cho chúng con cũng biết yêu thương những người yếu đuối, bệnh tật. Xin cho khoa học tiến bộ để giúp con người mạnh khỏe an vui. Thiên Chúa chỉ được vinh danh khi con người được hạnh phúc.
