Qua ngày thứ ba, có người từ trại quân của Saolê trở về, áo quần rách nát, đầu tóc đầy bụi bặm, anh đến trước mặt Đavít sấp mình kính lạy. Đavít hỏi anh: "Ngươi từ đâu tới?" Anh ta trả lời: "Tôi trốn từ trại quân Israel về". Đavít lại hỏi: "Có chuyện gì xảy ra đó, hãy kể lại cho ta nghe". Anh ta nói: "Dân chúng chạy trốn khỏi chiến trường, nhiều người trong dân đã bị hạ sát, vua Saolê và thái tử Gionathan cũng tử trận".</span><span style="font-size:18.0pt; color:#002060; "> </span></p>
<p style="margin:0cm;text-align:justify;line-height:200%;"><span style="font-size:18.0pt; color:#002060; ">Đavít liền xé áo mình ra, các người hầu cận của ông cũng làm như thế. Tất cả đều than van khóc lóc và ăn chay cho tới chiều để chịu tang vua Saolê, thái tử Gionathan, dân Chúa và nhà Israel, vì họ ngã gục dưới lưỡi gươm. (Và Đavít đã khóc rằng:)</span><span style="font-size:18.0pt; color:#002060; "> </span></p>

<p style="margin:0cm;text-align:justify;line-height:200%;"><span style="font-size:18.0pt; color:#002060; ">Lạy Chúa Giêsu, qua bài Tin Mừng hôm nay, chúng con cảm được nỗi đau đớn, xót xa của Chúa. Giả như bị quân thù phỉ báng còn có thể chịu được. Còn chỗ thân tình, tâm phúc mà chống đối thì đắng cay biết bao! Trong khi dân chúng càng ngày càng ca tụng và tin theo Chúa, thì thân nhân lại ngược đãi, sĩ nhục Ngài. Tại sao thân nhân Chúa không hợp tác để giúp Chúa làm trọn sứ vụ? Tại sao họ không nghĩ đến tình nghĩa để thương, mà còn gây phiền toái hơn cho Chúa?</span><span style="font-size:18.0pt; color:#002060; "> </span></p>

<p style="margin:0cm;text-align:justify;line-height:200%;"><span style="font-size:18.0pt; color:#002060; ">Lạy Chúa Giêsu, hình ảnh những thân nhân đó chính là chúng con. Chúng con được mang danh là Kitô hữu, chúng con xưng mình là con của Chúa. Thế nhưng rất nhiều lần chúng con lại làm Chúa buồn lòng hơn. Chính chúng con không vào Nước Trời, mà còn làm ngăn trở không cho ai vào, bằng những gương xấu của chúng con, bằng những cách sống thiếu chân thật, thiếu bác ái của chúng con.</span><span style="font-size:18.0pt; color:#002060; "> </span></p>
<p style="margin:0cm;text-align:justify;line-height:200%;"><span style="font-size:18.0pt; color:#002060; ">Xin Chúa tha tội cho chúng con. Xin Chúa giúp chúng con sửa mình lại. Xin cho chúng con biết cùng thao thức với Chúa, cùng mong ước cho nhân loại hạnh phúc. Xin cuộc sống của chúng con luôn là lời loan báo tình yêu và niềm vui cho thế giới.
