<font face="Arial">ĐTC đến nhà nguyện Thánh Nữ Faustina Kowalska, ở
Lagiewniki, một khu vực của thành Cracovia, cách tòa TGM 6 cây số. Tại đây
có tu viện của các nữ tu dòng Đức Mẹ Maria Thương Xót, nơi thánh nữ Faustina
đã sống 5 năm quan trọng nhất với những mạc khải thần bí thánh nữ nhận được.
Thánh Gioan Phaolô 2 đã 3 lần viếng thăm nơi này và ĐTC Biển Đức 16 đến đây
một lần vào năm 2006.</font></p>

<b><font face="Arial">Thánh nữ Faustina</font></b></p>

<font face="Arial">Thánh nữ Faustina Kowalska sinh năm 1905, tục danh là
Helena. Năm lên 7 tuổi, cô bé đã cảm thấy có ơn gọi sống đời tu trì, nhưng
không được cha mẹ chấp thuận, nên cô tìm cách bóp nghẹt ơn gọi đó. Tuy
nhiên, năm lên 20 tuổi, Helena được Chúa Kitô đau khổ mời gọi trong một thị
kiến, nên chị đã tới thủ đô Varsava, và ngày 1-8 năm 1925, để gia nhập tu
viện các nữ tu Đức Maria Thương Xót, và được nhận tên dòng là Maria
Faustina. Trong 13 năm, chị lần lượt được bổ tới 3 tu viện của dòng, đảm
nhận công việc làm bếp, làm vườn và coi cổng. Bên ngoài, không có dấu hiệu
gì chứng tỏ đời sống thần bí lạ thường của chị trong nội tâm. Chị Faustina
chuyên cần chu toàn mọi công việc, trung thành tuân giữ luật dòng, và sống
âm thầm, nhưng đồng thời luôn tỏ ra đầy tình thương dịu hiền và vị tha.</font></p>

<font face="Arial">Đàng sau cuộc sống đều đều và thầm lặng của chị Faustina
có một cuộc kết hiệp sâu xa khác thường với Chúa. Chị được những ơn lạ
thường, với những mạc khải, thị kiến, mang thánh tích bí ẩn, tham gia vào
cuộc thương khó của Chúa. Chị cũng được ơn ở nhiều nơi cùng một lúc, ơn đọc
được tâm hồn của tha nhân, ơn kết hôn thần bí với Chúa và ơn nói tiên tri.
Chị đã tiên báo Thế chiến thứ hai 8 năm trước khi biến cố này xảy ra, cũng
như nói tiên tri về việc bầu Đức Karol Wojtila người Ba Lan làm Giáo Hoàng.
Nhiều người không do dự ví chân phước Faustina với Cha Pio ở Italia xét về
số lượng những ơn lạ.</font></p>

<font face="Arial">Sứ mạng của Chị Faustina được mô tả trong cuốn ”Nhật Ký”
chị viết theo đề nghị của các cha giải tội. Trong các tập này, chị trung
thành ghi chép tất cả những lời của Chúa và bộc lộ những tiếp xúc của linh
hồn chị với Chúa. Trong cuốn Nhật Ký thứ sáu, chị viết: ”Một lần kia tôi cầu
nguyện cho Ba Lan và tôi nghe thấy những lời này: Ta yêu thương Ba Lan một
cách đặc biệt và nếu Ba Lan tuân theo ý Ta, Ta sẽ nâng Ba Lan lên hàng hùng
cường và thánh thiện. Từ đó sẽ nảy sinh ra tia lửa chuẩn bị thế giới cho sự
giáng lâm cuối cùng của Ta”.</font></p>

chị vui lòng chấp nhận tất cả như lễ hy sinh để cầu cho tội nhân. Chị qua

Karol Wojtila, ngài thường đến kính viếng mộ nữ tu Faustina ở Cracovia, vì
mỗi ngày, ngài vẫn đi qua đó trên đường tới làm việc tại hãng hóa học
Solvay. Ít lâu sau khi được bầu làm Giáo Hoàng, ngài đã cho thu hồi biện
pháp cấm cản của Bộ giáo lý đức tin đối với việc tôn sùng lòng Thương Xót
Chúa do Chị Faustina truyền bá.</font></p>

Vương cung thánh đường Lòng Chúa Thương Xót ngày 19-8-2002 trong cuộc quê
hương Ba Lan lần thứ 9. Đền thánh này cao 25 mét, dài 75 mét, rộng 45 mét,
có hai tầng và tháp cao và có thể chứa được 5 ngàn người.</font></p>

<font face="Arial">Khi đến khu vực gần tu viện của các nữ tu dòng Đức Mẹ
Thương Xót ở Lagienewki, ĐTC đã được Nữ tu Bề trên Tổng quyền, cũng như Bề
trên tu viện tiếp đón tại cửa nhà nguyện, trước sự hiện diện của 300 người
trong đó có 80 trẻ nữ được nhà dòng trợ giúp. Tiến vào bên trong nhà nguyện
Thánh Nữ Faustina, trước sự hiện diện của 150 nữ tu, ĐTC cầu nguyện trước
bức ảnh Lòng Chúa Thương Xót và bên dưới bàn thờ tại đó mộ của thánh nữ
Faustina. Bức ảnh được vẽ theo chính lời Chúa Giêsu yêu cầu thánh nữ trong
lần hiện ra vào năm 1931 trong phòng của thánh nữ ở thành phố Plock. Do sự
chỉ dẫn của thánh nữ Faustina, họa sĩ Eugeniusz Kazimirowski ở Vilnius đã
họa bức ảnh này lần đầu tiên vào năm 1934 bên dưới có ghi hàng chữ 'Lạy Chúa
Giêsu, con tín thác nơi Chúa'. Về sau nhiều bức ảnh khác cũng được vẽ ra
theo bức ảnh này.</font></p>

mới kính Lòng Thương Xót của, chỉ cách đó 200 mét. Ngài đứng ở sân thượng
trước thánh đường, chào thăm và chúc lành cho hàng ngàn tín hữu chờ đợi bên
dưới, rồi chào thăm một số gia đình với những người con nhỏ bị bệnh tật,
trước khi Bước qua Cửa Năm Thánh Lòng Chúa Thương Xót.</font></p>

Chúng ta hãy lợi dụng ngày này để lãnh nhận lòng thương xót Chúa. Tất cả
