<font face="Arial">Những lời trên của Chúa Giêsu đã trả lời câu hỏi thường
được đặt ra trong tâm trí chúng ta: “Thiên Chúa ở đâu?” Thiên Chúa ở đâu,
nếu sự ác hiện diện trong thế giới chúng ta, nếu có những người đàn ông đàn
bà đói và khát, không nhà, biệt xứ và tỵ nạn? Thiên Chúa ở đâu khi những
người vô tội chết vì bạo lực, khủng bố và chiến tranh? Thiên Chúa ở đâu, khi
những chứng bệnh tàn ác phá vỡ các dây liên kết sự sống và tình âu yếm? Hay
khi các trẻ em bị bóc lột và hạ nhân phẩm, và các em còn bị các chứng bệnh
hiểm nghèo nữa? Thiên Chúa ở đâu, giữa những khổ não của những người hoài
nghi và khủng hoảng tinh thần? Đây là những câu hỏi hiện chưa có câu trả lời
nếu xét về phương diện con người. Ta chỉ có thể nhìn lên Chúa Giêsu và hỏi
Người thôi. Và câu trả lời của Chúa Giêsu là: “Thiên Chúa ở trong tất cả
những người trên”. Chúa Giêsu ở trong họ; Người đau khổ ở trong họ và đồng
hóa với mỗi người trong họ một cách thâm sâu. Người kết hợp chặt chẽ với họ
đến nỗi đã cùng họ tạo nên “một thân xác”, có thể nói như thế.</font></p>

<font face="Arial">Chính Chúa Giêsu tự chọn đồng hóa với các anh chị em nói
trên của chúng ta, chịu đau đớn và khổ não bằng cách đồng ý bước lên “con
đường sầu khổ” dẫn tới Canvariô. Qua việc chết trên thánh giá, Người phó
mình trong tay Chúa Cha, nhận cho mình và trong mình, một cách yêu thương tự
hiến, các thương tích thể lý, tinh thần và tâm linh của toàn thể nhân loại.
Qua việc tiếp nhận cây thánh giá, Chúa Giêsu đã tiếp nhận sự trần truồng,
đói khát, cô đơn, đau đớn và chết chóc của con người nam nữ mọi thời. Đêm
nay, Chúa Giêsu, và với Người có chúng ta, ôm hôn, bằng một tình yêu đặc
biệt, các anh chị em của chúng ta từ Syria chạy trốn chiến tranh. Chúng ta
chào mừng họ và nghinh đón họ bằng một tình âu yếm và bằng hữu huynh đệ.</font></p>

<font face="Arial">Nhờ theo chân Chúa Giêsu trên Đàng Thánh Giá, một lần
nữa, chúng ta hiểu ra sự quan trọng của việc noi gương Người qua 14 việc
thương xót. Những việc này giúp chúng ta mở lòng ra đón nhận lòng thương xót
của Thiên Chúa, khẩn cầu ơn thánh để biết lượng định rằng không có lòng
thương xót, chúng ta không thể làm được gì; không có lòng thương xót, cả cha
lẫn các con cũng như bất cứ ai trong chúng ta, có thể làm gì được. Trước
nhất, chúng ta hãy xem xét 7 việc thương người về phần xác: cho kẻ đói ăn,
cho kẻ khát uống, cho kẻ rách rưới ăn mặc, cho khách đỗ nhà, viếng kể liệt
lào cùng kẻ tù rạc, và chôn xác kẻ chết. Chúng ta đã nhận được nhưng không,
thì hãy nhưng không cho đi. Chúng ta được kêu gọi phụng sự Chúa Giêsu chịu
đóng đinh trong mọi người bị hắt hủi, đụng đến thân xác thánh thiêng của
Người trong những người kém thế, trong những người đói khát, trần truồng và
bị giam cầm, trong người bệnh và thất nghiệp, trong những ai đang bị bách
hại, trong các người tị nạn và di dân. Ở đấy, chúng ta tìm ra Thiên Chúa của
chúng ta; ở đấy, chúng ta sờ thấy Chúa. Chính Chúa Giêsu nói cho ta biết
điều đó khi Người giải thích tiêu chuẩn theo đó chúng ta sẽ bị phán xét: bất
cứ khi nào chúng ta làm những điều ấy với một người bé nhỏ nhất trong các
anh chị em của chúng ta, là chúng ta làm cho Người (xem Mt 25:31-46).</font></p>

<font face="Arial">Sau các việc thương người về phần xác là các việc thương
người về phần hồn: lấy lời lành mà khuyên người, mở dạy kẻ mê muội, răn bảo
kẻ có tội, yên ủi kẻ âu lo, tha kẻ dể ta, nhịn kẻ mất lòng ta, cầu cho kẻ
sống và kẻ chết. Trong việc tiếp đón những người bị ruồng bỏ phải chịu đau
khổ về thể lý và những người tội lỗi phải chịu đau khổ về tâm linh, tính khả
tín làm Kitô hữu của chúng ta đang lâm nguy.</font></p>

<font face="Arial">Nhân loại ngày nay cần những người đàn ông và đàn bà,
nhất là những người trẻ như các con, những người không muốn sống cuộc sống
mình một cách “nửa đường”, những người trẻ sẵn sàng tự hiến đời mình để phục
vụ các anh chị em nghèo nhất và yếu thế nhất, noi gương Chúa Kitô, Đấng đã
hiến mình hoàn toàn để cứu chuộc chúng ta. Đứng trước sự ác, đau khổ và tội
lỗi, đáp ứng duy nhất có thể có đối với một môn đệ Chúa Giêsu là tự hiến,
thậm chí hiến mạng sống mình, noi gương Chúa Kitô; đây là thái độ phục vụ.
Những người tự gọi là Kitô hữu nếu không sống để phục vụ, thì đời họ không
phục vụ bất cứ mục đích tốt lành nào. Với lối sống ấy, họ bác bỏ chính Chúa
Giêsu Kitô.</font></p>

<font face="Arial">Các con thân yêu, tối nay, một lần nữa, Chúa yêu cầu các
con hãy lên tuyến đầu để phục vụ người khác. Người muốn biến các con thành
đáp ứng cụ thể cho các nhu cầu và đau khổ của nhân loại. Người muốn các con
thành các dấu chỉ của tình yêu thương xót của Người đối với thời nay! Để
giúp các con khả năng thi hành sứ mệnh này, Người chỉ cho các con con đường
cam kết bản thân và tự hy sinh. Đó là Đàng Thánh Giá. Đàng Thánh Giá là
đường trung tín bước chân theo Chúa Giêsu cho đến cùng, trong các tình huống
thường thường bi thảm của đời sống hàng ngày. Đây là một con đường không sợ
thiếu thành công, tẩy chay hay cô đơn, vì nó đổ đầy tim ta bằng sự viên mãn
của Chúa Giêsu. Đàng Thánh Giá là đường sống của chính Thiên Chúa, là “phong
thái” của Người, phong thái được Chúa Giêsu mang tới cho cả những đường hẻm
của một xã hội hay bị chia rẽ, bất công và thối nát.</font></p>

<font face="Arial">Đàng Thánh Giá, một mình nó, đủ đánh bại tội lỗi, sự ác
và sự chết, vì nó dẫn tới ánh sáng Phục Sinh rạng ngời của Chúa Kitô và mở
ra nhiều chân trời sống mới mẻ và trọn vẹn hơn. Nó là đường hy vọng, là
đường tương lai. Những ai quảng đại và tin tưởng bước theo đường này sẽ mang
lại hy vọng và tương lai cho nhân loại.</font></p>

<font face="Arial">Các người trẻ thân yêu, vào Ngày Thứ Sáu Tuần Thánh ấy,
nhiều môn đệ tiu nghỉu trở về nhà họ. Nhiều môn đệ khác quyết định đi về
vùng quê để quên đi cây thập giá. Cha hỏi các con: tối nay, các con muốn trở
về nhà, về những nơi các con đang trú ngụ, với dáng vẻ nào? Tối nay, các con
muốn trở về nhà để được một mình đối diện với các ý nghĩ của các con ra sao?
Mỗi người các con phải trả lời cho thách thức mà câu hỏi này đặt ra cho các
con.</font></td>
