<font face="Arial">Ngài đưa ra lời kêu gọi trên đây trong buổi tiếp kiến
sáng ngày 16-6-2016, dành cho 90 tham dự viên Hội nghị thường niên của tổ
chức Roaco là liên minh các cơ quan bác ái trợ giúp các Giáo Hội Công Giáo
Đông phương. Hội nghị này tiến hành dưới quyền chủ tọa của ĐHY Leonardo
Sandri, Tổng trưởng Bộ các Giáo Hội Công Giáo Đông phương, và nhiều đại diện
của các tổ chức bác ái và các vị sứ thần Tòa Thánh.</font></p>

<font face="Arial">ĐTC đi từ sự kiện gần đây trong tiến trình tu bổ ở
Bethlehem, trên trần một gian giữa của một đền thờ, người ta khám phá ra bức
tranh khảm một thiên thần thứ 7, cùng với 6 thiên thần khác đang đi rước
tiến về nơi Chúa sinh ra. Ngài nói:</font></p>

<font face="Arial">”Sự kiện này làm cho chúng ta nghĩ rằng khuôn mặt của các
cộng đoàn Giáo Hội cũng có thể bị che phủ vì những bụi bặm và những lớp vôi
khác do những vấn đề khác nhau và tội lỗi. Trong chiều hướng đó, công việc
của anh chị em phải luôn luôn được hướng dẫn do niềm xác tín rằng dưới những
lớp bụi bặm và những gì che phủ về vật chất và luân lý, dưới những nước mắt
và máu đổ do chiến tranh, bạo lực và bách hại gây ra, dưới những lớp phủ
dường như không thể xuyên qua như thế, có một khuôn mặt sáng ngời như khuôn
mặt thiên thần trong bức tranh khảm.”</font></p>

<font face="Arial">ĐTC nhấn mạnh rằng: ”Tất cả anh chị em, qua những dự án
và hành động, đang cộng tác vào việc tu bổ ấy, để khuôn mặt của Giáo Hội
phản chiếu rõ rệt ánh sáng của Chúa Kitô, Ngôi Lời nhập thể. Ngài là niềm an
bình của chúng ta, và đang gõ cửa tâm hồn chúng ta ở Trung Đông, cũng như
tại Ấn độ và Ucraina, quốc gia mà tôi đã muốn dành số tiền lạc quyên đặc
biệt mới đây trong các nhà thờ ở Âu Châu hồi tháng tư vừa qua để cứu trợ.</font></p>

<font face="Arial">Sau cùng, ĐTC đặc biệt nhắc đến sự hiện diện của Giáo Hội
Siro Malabar và Siro Malankara ở ngoài bang Kerala bên Ấn Độ, một chủ đề
được bàn tới trong khóa họp hiện nay của tổ chức Roaco. Ngài tái khẳng định
lập trường và các chỉ thị của các vị Giáo Hoàng tiền nhiệm về quyền của các
Giáo Hội này và các Giáo Hội Công Giáo la tinh, tránh tinh thần chia rẽ, và
phải cổ võ tinh thần hiệp thông trong việc làm chứng tá về Chúa Giêsu Kitô
Đấng Cứu Thế duy nhất.</font></p>

<font face="Arial">Nhiều tín hữu Công Giáo đông phương thuộc hai Giáo Hội
Syro Malabar và Syro Malankara ra ngoài lãnh thổ bang Kerala và sống rải rác
tại các giáo phận Công Giáo la tinh. Từ đó thỉnh thoảng xảy ra những ”cọ
xát” về thẩm quyền mục vụ giữa các GM la tinh và Đông phương. Các vị Giáo
Hoàng trước đây đã đề ra các qui tắc cần thiết để việc mục vụ cho các tín
hữu Đông phương được tiến hành hài hòa (SD 16-6-2016)</font></td>
