Guillaume Goubert, giám đốc của tờ báo, Đức Phanxicô nói rằng: Pháp là
“trưởng nữ của Giáo Hội… nhưng không phải là đứa con gái trung thành nhất! (cười).
Trong các năm 1950, người ta cũng hay nói “Nước Pháp, xứ của truyền giáo”.
Theo nghĩa này, Pháp là một khu ngoại biên cần được phúc âm hóa. Nhưng ta
phải công bằng với nước Pháp. Giáo Hội ở đây có một khả năng sáng tạo. .
Nước Pháp cũng là một lãnh thổ của các vị đại thánh, các đại tư tưởng gia:
Jean Guitton, Maurice Blondel, Emmanuel Levinas, người không phải là Công

linh đạo Dòng Tên ra sao so với trào lưu Tây Ban Nha, có tính khổ hạnh hơn.
Trào lưu Pháp, một trào lưu khởi đầu với Thánh Pierre Favre, luôn nhấn mạnh
tới việc biện phân thần khí, đem lại một mùi vị khác hẳn. Với những nhà linh
đạo Pháp vĩ đại: Louis Lallemant, Jean-Pierre de Caussade. Và với những nhà
thần học Pháp vĩ đại, từng giúp ích xiết bao cho Dòng Tên: Henri de Lubac và
Michel de Certeau. Hai vị vừa kể làm tôi rất hài lòng: hai tu sĩ Dòng Tên có
óc sáng tạo. Tóm lại, đó là điều làm tôi rất hào hứng với nước Pháp. Một

này đã được phúc âm hóa bởi các nhà truyền giáo từ Trung Hoa, nhưng sau đó,
các vị này đã bỏ đi. Rồi, suốt trong hai thế kỷ, Đại Hàn đã được các giáo
dân phúc âm hóa. Đó là một lãnh thổ của các vị thánh và các vị tử đạo với

của Giáo Hội, là động cơ của Giáo Hội. Rất nhiều Kitô Hữu đã làm ngơ điều đó.
Một nguy cơ phản lại Giáo Hội là chủ nghĩa duy giáo sĩ. Đó là một tội mà cả
hai người đều phạm, giống như điệu tango! Các linh mục muốn giáo sĩ hóa các

tháng 6 năm 2015 nói về một câu phát biểu của Đức Phanxicô đối với Pháp,
nhân cuộc gặp gỡ giới trẻ Pháp ngày 11 tháng 6, qua trung gian của Đức Hồng
Y Barbarin. Câu phát biểu đó gần y hệt như câu đầu tiên ngài trả lời Báo La
Croix lần này: Đức Giáo Hoàng nói bằng tiếng Pháp: “người ta bảo Pháp là
trưởng nữ của Giáo Hội”. “Và nó quả rất đúng như thế!”. Rồi giơ ngón tay lên,
ngài nói tiếp “Nhưng không trung thành hơn hết”. Vừa cười, ngài vừa hỏi:
“Đúng chứ, không trung thành hơn hết?”</font></p>

Đức Phanxicô “Pháp là đứa con gái rất bất trung”. La Croix đặt câu hỏi: thực
ra bối cảnh của câu nói trên là gì? Theo một người trẻ trong đoàn, thì cuộc
gặp gỡ kéo dài 50 phút với Đức Giáo Hoàng này chú mục vào sự khó khăn phải
làm sao để Giáo Hội (tại Pháp, chứ không hẳn nước Pháp) chịu “nhúc nhích”.
Đức Giáo Hoàng nói đùa với nhóm người trẻ này rằng: “có một nơi duy nhất
không có thay đổi, đó là… nghĩa địa”. Rồi ngài giải thích: “Nhiều người bề
ngoài thì sống đấy, nhưng bề trong thì đã chết. Nhiều người đã đánh mất niềm
vui”. Theo anh, Đức Giáo Hoàng dường như muốn nói đến một giấc mộng không
thành, đến hẹn lại không lên, nơi Giáo Hội Pháp, “như thể ngài chờ mong nơi
người Công Giáo Pháp một cuộc canh tân, một sự thức giấc, một lòng bạo dạn
không thấy đến”.</font></p>
