<font face="Arial">“Bài đọc Tin Mừng ngày hôm nay, trích từ chương thứ 10
Tin Mừng theo Thánh Luca (Lc, 1-12.17-20), giúp chúng ta hiểu sự cần thiết
của việc kêu cầu Thiên Chúa: ‘Xin chủ mùa gặt sai thợ ra gặt lúa về ‘(Câu
2). Những người thợ mà Đức Giêsu nói đến chính là những thừa sai của Triều
Đại Thiên Chúa. Chính Thiên Chúa đã kêu gọi và sai ‘cứ từng hai người một đi
trước, vào tất cả các thành, các nơi mà chính Người sẽ đến’ (Câu 1).</font></p>

<font face="Arial">Nhiệm vụ của các thừa sai là loan truyền thông điệp cứu
độ đến tất cả mọi người. Không chỉ những nhà truyền giáo ở những nơi xa xôi,
nhưng chính chúng ta cũng là những thừa sai, những người nói những lời tốt
lành về ơn cứu độ. Đây chính là món quà mà Đức Giêsu đã ban tặng cho chúng
ta với Thần Khí. Lời loan báo ấy là: ‘Triều Đại Thiên Chúa đã đến gần các
ông’ (Câu 9). Thực vậy, Đức Giêsu đã mang Thiên Chúa đến gần với chúng ta,
Thiên Chúa đã trở nên một người như chúng ta; trong Đức Giêsu, Thiên Chúa cư
ngụ giữa chúng ta, tình yêu thương xót của Người chiến thắng tội lỗi và đau
khổ của chúng ta.</font></p>

<font face="Arial">Đây là Tin Mừng mà những ‘người thợ’ phải mang đến cho
tất cả mọi người: một thông điệp của sự hy vọng và của sự ủi an, của hòa
bình và của lòng bác ái. Đức Giêsu, khi sai các môn đệ đi trước vào các
thành thị và làng mạc, đã căn dặn các ông: ‘Trước tiên hãy nói: “Bình an cho
nhà này.”… Hãy chữa trị những người đau yếu trong thành’ (Câu 5.9). Tất cả
những điều này có nghĩa là Triều Đại Thiên Chúa được xây dựng từng ngày từng
ngày và làm trổ sinh trên trái đất này những hoa trái của sự hoán cải, của
sự thanh tẩy, của tình yêu và của sự ủi gian giữa người với người.</font></p>

<font face="Arial">Người môn đệ của Đức Giêsu phải thực hiện sứ vụ này với
một tinh thần như thế nào? Trước hết, anh phải ý thức về thực tại khó khăn
và đôi khi cả sự thù địch đang chờ đợi anh phía trước. Thật vậy, Đức Giêsu

thù địch bao giờ cũng là khởi đầu của những bách hại, vì Đức Giêsu biết rằng
sứ vụ luôn bị cản trở bởi những hành động chống phá của ma quỷ. Vì thế,
người thợ của Tin Mừng phải nỗ lực để được tự do, thoát khỏi những điều kiện
nhân loại trong mọi hình thức, tức là không mang theo bao bị, túi tiền, giầy
dép (Câu 4) như Đức Giêsu đã căn dặn, để chỉ tín thác vào quyền năng của
Thập Giá Đức Kitô mà thôi. Điều này có nghĩa là người môn đệ phải loại bỏ
mọi động cơ liên quan đến hư danh cá nhân ngõ hầu có thể trở thành khí cụ
khiêm nhường của ơn cứu độ đã được thực hiện bởi sự hiến tế của Đức Giêsu,
Đấng đã chết và sống lại vì chúng ta.</font></p>

<font face="Arial">Trở thành những Kitô hữu như thế là một sứ mạng tuyệt vời
dành cho hết mọi người, không trừ một ai; điều này đòi hỏi rất nhiều lòng
quảng đại, trên hết là có cái nhìn và một tâm hồn hướng thượng để nài xin sự
giúp sức của Thiên Chúa. Chúng ta đang cần rất nhiều những Kitô hữu biết làm
chứng cho Tin Mừng với niềm vui tươi trong cuộc sống hằng ngày. Các môn đệ,
sau khi được Đức Giêsu sai đi, đã trở về trong vui tươi hớn hở (Câu 17). Khi
chúng ta được sai đi như các môn đệ, tâm hồn chúng ta cũng ngập tràn niềm
vui. Sự diễn tả này làm tôi nghĩ đến niềm vui trong Giáo Hội. Mẹ Giáo Hội
mừng vui khi con cái mình được nhận lãnh Tin Mừng nhờ sự cống hiến, dấn thân
của biết bao nhiêu người trong việc rao giảng: các linh mục, các cha xứ tốt
lành, các nữ tu, các tu sĩ, các thừa sai, các nhà truyền giáo.</font></p>

<font face="Arial">Và giờ đây, tôi nhận thấy một câu hỏi đang dấy lên trong
lòng là: Liệu có bao nhiêu bạn trẻ đang hiện diện nơi đây, trong quảng
trường này, nghe thấy lời mời gọi của Thiên Chúa bước đi theo Ngài? Các bạn
trẻ thân mến, các con đừng sợ hãi. Hãy cảm đảm và mang đến cho người khác
ngọn đuốc cháy sáng của lòng nhiệt huyết tông đồ đã được để lại bởi gương
mẫu của các môn đệ.</font></p>

Giáo Hội sẽ mừng lễ thánh nữ Maria Goretti, một thánh nữ tử vì đạo. Trước
lúc chết, thánh nữ sẵn lòng tha thứ cho kẻ đã sát hại mình.</font></p>
