<font face="Arial">Giám mục Mã, 48 tuổi, được phong chức giám mục hồi tháng
7, 2012, với sự đồng thuận của cả chính quyền Trung Quốc và Vatican. Đây
được xem là một nhượng bộ của giới cầm quyền Trung Quốc suốt nhiều thập kỷ
vẫn luôn nhắm xây dựng một Giáo hội Công giáo tự trị và trung thành với Đảng
hơn là với Tòa Thánh.</font></p>

giám mục Mã sẽ tuân phục mình. Và khi nghĩ như thế, các nhà cầm quyền đã
nhất định đưa một giám mục nhà nước, không được sự phê chuẩn của Vatican,
tham dự trong nghi lễ tấn phong của giám mục Mã. Nhưng khi vị giám mục nhà
nước này đến đặt tay trên đức cha Mã, như một phần nghi thức, thì đức cha Mã
đứng dậy và ôm lấy ông, không cho vị giám mục này được thực hiện hành động
sẽ cho ông là một phần phong phụng vụ này.</font></p>

là giám mục cho tất cả, nghĩa là cho cả những người Công giáo trung thành
với Tòa Thánh. Và như thế, theo chính lời đức cha Mã, ngài sẽ không còn là
một phần của Liên hiệp Công giáo Ái quốc Trung Quốc, một thứ được dựng lên
do tay chính quyền Cộng sản.</font></p>

nhà nước đã công khai ra một tuyên bố táo bạo như vậy. Trong cộng đoàn tham
dự nghi lễ, nhiều người vỗ tay hoan hô, những người khác còn bật khóc.</font></p>

quản thúc tại gia trong chủng viện Thượng Hải, và chính chủng viện này cũng
nhanh chóng bị chính quyền đóng cửa. Ngài vẫn ở đó suốt 3 năm, bị cắt đứt
liên lạc với thế giới bên ngoài, dù mới đây, nhà nước đã cho phép ngài tiếp
khách và cử hành thánh lễ với giáo dân.</font></p>

các viên chức chính quyền đến thẩm vấn và yêu cầu ngài theo học lớp cảm tình
Đảng. Cách duy nhất ngài giao tiếp với thế giới bên ngoài là qua trang blog
