Trong số những người đã được trao giải có thủ tướng Ý Alcide de Gaspari vào
năm 1952, thủ tướng Konrad Adenauer của Đức vào năm 1954, chính trị gia Đức
Robert Schuman vào năm 1958. Robert Schuman là người thường được gọi là "cha
đẻ của châu Âu" và Tòa Thánh đang trong tiến trình xét tuyên phong chân
