đến thăm Toà Thượng phụ, họ được Đức giám mục phụ tá William Shomali đón
tiếp và cảm ơn về lòng can đảm của họ. Trong lời kêu gọi các nhóm hành hương
cầu nguyện cho hoà bình tại Thánh Địa, Đức cha Shomali nói: “Hành hương
trong thời gian đầy khó khăn này mới thực là một chuyến hành hương. Điều đó

số khách hành hương đến Giêrusalem sẽ sụt giảm, nhưng chỉ có rất ít khách
huỷ chuyến. Số khách hành hương này đến từ Pháp, Tây Ban Nha và một số nước
châu Âu khác; một số đến từ Hoa Kỳ và Châu Á, mặc dù tin tức không làm người
ta an tâm. Đối với đa phần khách hành hương, họ đã dự định chuyến đi từ lâu
nên không muốn huỷ bỏ.</font></p>

lòng khách hành hương vào lúc này, nhưng có thể sẽ ảnh hưởng trong tương
lai. Bằng chứng là hiện nay có rất ít khách hành hương và du lịch cho mùa
Giáng sinh cũng như đầu mùa du lịch năm tới: sự suy giảm được xem là bình
thường vào lúc này trong thời điểm cuối mùa du lịch, nhưng đó lại là nỗi bận
lòng cho năm tới. Đức giám mục Shomali ước mong mọi người hãy an tâm: “Đừng
sợ, bạo động sẽ chẳng nhắm vào các bạn đâu”.</font></p>
