Tám 1823. Là một thanh niên có một đức tin sâu sắc và chuyên chăm cầu
nguyện, có thời ông đã mong mỏi được dâng hiến cho Thiên Chúa trong nhà tế
bần của Thánh Cả Bernard, nhưng gặp khó khăn trong việc học tiếng Latin, ông
đành trở thành một thợ đồng hồ và định cư tại Alençon.</font></p>

Saint-Denis-sur Sarthon, vào ngày 23 Tháng 12 năm 1831. Cô đã làm việc như
một người thợ thêu thùa tại Alençon. Cô cũng đã từng bị cuốn hút bởi đời
sống các nữ tu, nhưng sức khỏe không ổn định của mình và những nhận xét tiêu
cực của sơ Bề Trên Dòng Nữ Tử Bác Ái tại Alençon làm cô nản lòng.</font></p>

<font face="Arial">Ơn Chúa quan phòng, Zélie gặp được Louis trên cầu Thánh
Leonard: cô gặp được một thanh niên mà những đức tính cao quý của anh, cung
cách kính cẩn và vẻ trang nghiêm của anh đã để lại cho cô một ấn tượng sâu
sắc. Một giọng nói trong lặng lẽ thì thầm: "Đây là người đàn ông đã dành sẵn
cho con". Họ đã kết hôn vài tháng sau đó tại nhà thờ Đức Bà thành Alençon,
vào đêm 13 tháng 6, năm 1858.</font></p>

chết trong thời thơ ấu, nhưng điều đó không dìm họ trong đau buồn cũng không
làm suy yếu được đức tin sâu sắc của họ, họ vẫn kiên trì tham dự Thánh Lễ
hàng ngày và có lòng sùng kính đặc biệt với Đức Trinh Nữ Maria. Người con
gái cuối cùng của họ là Thánh Nữ Têrêsa Hài Đồng Giêsu, Tiến Sĩ Hội Thánh.
Án phong chân phước cho một người con gái khác của các ngài là chị Léonie
(Sơ Francoise Therese, một nữ tu dòng Thăm Viếng) đã được bắt đầu vào ngày
02 tháng 7 năm nay.</font></p>
