Thượng Hội Đồng đầu tiên ngài tham dự nên rất “hào hứng”. Ngài hơi có dự cảm
khi chờ kết quả của nó. Đức Hồng Y cho biết: dù Đại Dương Châu là một đảo
nhỏ xa xôi, nhưng các gia đình ở đấy cũng chịu ảnh hưởng của các vấn đề hoàn
cầu. Ngài nói rằng đại gia đình là điều quan trọng nhưng nhiều người trẻ
đang rời bỏ đảo đi tìm cuộc sống tốt hơn. Ngài đề cập tới các thách đố của
chủ nghĩa duy cá nhân và duy vật chất.</font></p>

tuyệt diệu và đây là một dịp để lắng nghe, học hỏi và nói về thực tại trong

gia đình sống thực sứ mệnh của họ và cho các gia đình khác.</font></p>

<font face="Arial">Đức Hồng Y Gracias được hỏi nhiều câu hỏi về bản tường
trình cuối cùng và diễn trình của Thượng Hội Đồng. Ngài nói rằng ủy ban soạn
thảo đã nhất trí bỏ phiếu chấp thuận dự thảo đầu tiên; dự thảo này sẽ được
trình bầy cho các vị giám mục vào chiều thứ Năm. Ngài cho biết: các vị giám
mục sẽ được Tổng Thư Ký, Đức Hồng Y Lorenzo Baldiserri, trình bầy các khía
cạnh thủ tục của mấy ngày sắp tới. Sau đó, Tổng Tường trình Viên, Đức Hồng Y
Peter Erdo, sẽ tường trình các phần quan trọng của dự thảo. Các vị giám mục
sẽ được cung cấp mỗi vị một bản dự thảo để nghiên cứu qua đêm.</font></p>

<font face="Arial">Đức Hồng Y được hỏi về số 84 của tông huấn Familiaris
Consortio , tức tông huấn hậu thượng hội đồng năm 1980 về gia đình. Trong
văn kiện này, Thánh Giáo Hoàng Gioan Phaolô II nói rằng người ly dị và tái
hôn dân sự không được rước lễ. Ngài được hỏi: liệu ủy ban soạn thảo có nêu
vấn đề này trong bản văn sau cùng hay không vì nó hay được nhắc đến tại
Thượng Hội Đồng. Đức Hồng Y Gracias cho biết: một số vấn đề tương tự nhau
nhưng hoàn cảnh thì đã thay đổi. Ngài nhấn mạnh rằng Familiaris Consortio
cũng đã tuyên bố rằng ta không nên đặt mọi người vào cùng một phạm trù. Đức
Hồng Y nói rằng ta không thể xử với mọi người cùng một cách. Những người bẻ
gẫy dây hôn phối có khác với người không muốn điều đó xẩy ra và đã cố gắng
hết sức để duy trì sợi dây đó. Đức Hồng Y Gracias nói: “nói thực, chúng tôi
không có giải pháp”. Ngài cho biết: ta cần nghiên cứu Thánh Kinh, thần học
luân lý, tín lý, thánh truyền và, hy vọng, khi cái hiểu được thâm hậu hóa,
thì may ra một giải pháp sẽ xuất hiện.</font></p>
