<font face="Arial">Phương thức thứ hai do nhiều vị giám mục khác đề xuất là
khởi đi từ các thay đổi sâu xa đang diễn ra trong xã hội để tìm hiểu xem
Giáo Hội có thể dùng Thánh Kinh và Thánh Truyền ra sao để vẫn còn liên hệ
tới đời sống của người thời nay. Không sống trong sợ hãi đối với một nền văn
hóa thù nghịch và vô thượng đế, nhưng đúng hơn là can dự vào nó, đề xuất Tin
Vui Phúc Âm cho bất cứ ai đang tìm ý nghĩa đời người.</font></p>

<font face="Arial">Từ quan điểm vừa nói, phần trình bầy có tính dẫn nhập của
Đức Hồng Y Peter Erdo vào hôm thứ Hai có thể được coi là bài trình bầy sắc
sảo và cổ điển về giáo huấn gia đình của Giáo Hội. Tuy nhiên, như Đức Tổng
Giám Mục Paul-André Durocher, nguyên chủ tịch Hội Đồng Giám Mục Canada, từng
nói, đây chỉ là một mảnh của câu đố khó giải mà thôi. Đúng hơn, thay vì là
lời sau cùng đối với các giám mục, đây mới chỉ là một khởi điểm, để từ đó,
các nhóm nhỏ theo ngôn ngữ bắt đầu thảo luận. Chính trong khung cảnh nhỏ
hơn, nhưng nhiều tương tác hơn này, mọi tham dự viên, kể cả các giáo dân nam
nữ, kể luôn các đại biểu không phải là Công Giáo, có thể chia sẻ cung cách
duy trì giáo huấn Giáo Hội trong khi vẫn tiếp xúc được với đời sống thực của
người ta. Hoặc nói theo ngôn ngữ của Đức Giáo Hoàng Phanxicô: làm cách nào
trở thành một Giáo Hội biết mở rộng cửa, không dính chặt vào phòng áo lễ mà
là đi ra ngoài phố khiến tay mình ra dơ bẩn.</font></p>

<font face="Arial">Về ngữ vựng, rất nhiều bài nói sử dụng một ngôn từ không
làm những người đang khát khao được nghe lời Chúa cảm thấy xa lạ. Một vài
tham dự viên cảnh cáo cách mạnh mẽ chống thứ ngôn ngữa loại trừ, nhất là khi
nói về những người đang sống trong các cuộc hôn nhân thứ hai hay trong các
liên hệ đồng tính. Dù ta dễ nhất trí đối với việc sử dụng ngôn từ nhậy cảm
và bao gồm để nói về các nạn nhân của bạo lực, về người nghèo hay những
người bị hắt hủi khác, ta vẫn chưa tìm được sự đồng thuận đối với ngôn từ
được dùng để mô tả những người đồng tính, coi họ như thành phần của chính
gia đình ta, như anh chị em của chính ta.</font></p>
