<font face="Arial">“Nếu việc trở thành một người Kitô hữu chỉ đơn giản là
gia nhập một tổ chức, thì tư cách thành viên có thể dễ dàng thay đổi theo ý
chúng ta muốn. Nhưng nếu là một Kitô hữu nghĩa là thuộc về Chúa Giêsu Kitô,
thì những lời của Chúa Giêsu không thể bị uốn nắn hay bỏ qua, vì cái Người
đòi hỏi nơi chúng ta là một tình yêu thể hiện sự trao ban tổng thể cho Chúa
như Người đã trao ban cho chúng ta. Chúng ta không thể thương lượng chỉ muốn
được một phần của Chúa Giêsu. Chúng ta chỉ có thể có Chúa khi chúng ta trao
cho Người tất cả mọi thứ. Nếu chúng ta chỉ muốn trao cho Người một phần của
chính mình, chúng ta sẽ chẳng nhận được gì - chẳng được sự thật, và chẳng
được Chúa Giêsu đâu.</font></p>

<font face="Arial">Chúng ta đều cảm nhận được sự tiến thoái lưỡng nan của
những người tốt đã ly dị và tái hôn dân sự nhưng muốn có sự an ủi của bí
tích Thánh Thể, và cả những người khác đang đối mặt với những hấp lực đồng
giới. Không ai có thể phủ nhận những khó khăn mà những người này đôi khi
phải đối mặt. Nhưng chúng ta cần Tin Mừng để hướng dẫn chúng ta trong lý
luận của mình. Vấn đề trọng tâm là: chúng ta và họ muốn đón nhận Chúa Giêsu
Kitô trên các điều kiện của Ngài hoặc trên các điều kiện của chúng ta? Nếu
trên nguyên tắc chúng ta không thể chấp nhận cảm giác khó chịu, đau khổ và
cả sự tử đạo nữa, thì chúng ta không thể là môn đệ Ngài. Chúng ta không thể
viết lại hoặc bỏ qua những gì Chúa Giêsu đòi hỏi để theo Ngài.</font></p>

chúng ta, bất cứ chúng ta lựa chọn con đường nào. Nhưng trong tất cả các vấn
đề luân lý khó khăn hiện nay, các điều khoản trong mối quan hệ của chúng ta
với Chúa Giêsu không đến lượt chúng ta quyết định.</font></td>
