<font face="Arial">Sáng hôm nay, Thánh Lễ cử hành ở Đền Thờ Thánh Phêrô đã
kết thúc Thượng Nghị Giám Mục Thế Giới Thường Lệ về gia đình. Tôi mời gọi
hết mọi người hãy cảm tạ Thiên Chúa về ba tuần lễ làm việc hết mình bằng
nguyện cầu và tinh thần thật hiệp thông này. Tuy mệt nhưng đúng là một tặng
ân thực sự Chúa ban nên cuối cùng đã tiến hành với nhiều hoa trái. </font></p>

<font face="Arial">Chữ "synod" có nghĩa là "to walk together - đồng hành".
Những gì chúng tôi đã cảm nghiệm ấy là cảm nghiệm của Giáo Hội trong cuộc
hành trình này, bằng cách đặc biệt lên đường với các gia đình của dân thánh
Chúa ở khắp nơi trên thế giới. Đó là lý do Lời Chúa hôm nay trong Sách Tiên
Tri Giêrêmia đã đánh động tôi. Thiên Chúa nói rằng: "Này đây Ta sẽ mang
chúng trở về từ miền đất bắc; Ta sẽ qui tụ chúng lại từ tận cùng trái đất,
trong số đó có người đui kẻ què, có những người mẹ cùng với những người mẹ
đang mang thai; họ sẽ trở về rất đông đảo". Thiên Chúa nói như thế. Rồi vị
tiên tri còn viết thêm: "Họ ra đi khóc lóc, nhưng Ta sẽ an ủi chúng và dẫn
dắt chúng; Ta sẽ dẫn chúng đến các suối nước, dẫn chúng đi trên con đường
bằng phẳng, để không một ai trong chúng bị vấp ngã. Vì Ta là một Người Cha
của Yến Duyên (Israel)" (Giêrêmia 31:8-9). </font></p>

<font face="Arial">Lời Chúa ấy nói với chúng ta rằng trước hết là Ngài muốn
đồng hành với chúng ta, muốn thực hiện một cuộc "synod - đồng hành" với
chúng ta; Ngài chính là Cha của chúng ta. "Giấc mơ" của Ngài, luôn luôn và
vĩnh viễn, đó là hình thành nên một dân tộc, đem họ lại với nhau, dẫn họ đến
mảnh đất tự do và bình an. Và thành phần dân này được tạo nên bởi các gia
đình: có "những người mẹ và những người mẹ mang thai"; họ là một dân tộc mà
khi họ bước đi là mang sự sống tiến tới bằng phúc lành của Thiên Chúa. </font></p>

người bất hạnh, trái lại, bao gồm cả những người ấy nữa: "trong họ có cả
người đui và kẻ què" - Chúa phán. Đó là một gia đình của các gia đình, trong
đó những ai gặp khó khăn không bị ra rìa và bị bỏ lại sau lưng, mà được giúp
đỡ để có thể theo kịp những người khác, vì thành phần dân này bước đi với
những ai "cuối cùng"; như người ta làm trong gia đình, và như cách thức Chúa
đã dạy chúng ta, ở chỗ trở thành nghèo khó với người nghèo, nhỏ bé với người
bé mọn nhất, nhất là với những ai "cuối cùng". Ngài đã không làm như thế là
để loại trừ thành phần giầu sang, thành phần cao trọng, và những ai coi mình
là "đệ nhất thiên hạ", mà vì đó là con đường duy nhất để cứu cả họ nữa, để
cứu hết mọi người, bao gồm cả người bé mọn, cả kẻ bị loại trừ và người "cuối
cùng". </font></p>

<font face="Arial">Tôi công nhận rằng lời tiên tri này là lời về dân chúng
bước đi trong cuộc hành trình của họ. Tôi cũng so sánh những lời ấy với các
hình ảnh về những người tị nạn đang bước đi trên các đường phố ở Âu Châu,
một thực tại thê thảm trong thời điểm của chúng ta đây. Thiên Chúa nói về họ
rằng: "Họ đã ra đi trong nước mắt, nhưng Ta sẽ an ủi họ và dẫn dắt họ; Ta sẽ
đưa chúng đến những suối nước". Ngay cả những gia đình đang chịu khổ nhất,
những gia đình đang bị bật gốc khỏi quê hương của họ, cũng đã hiện diện với
chúng ta trong Thượng Nghị này, trong lời cầu nguyện của chúng ta và trong
công việc của chúng ta, qua tiếng nói của một số vị mục tử hiện diện trong
Thượng Nghị này. Những người đang tìm kiếm phẩm giá ấy, những gia đình đang
tìm kiếm bình an này vẫn còn đang ở với chúng ta, Giáo Hội không bỏ rơi họ,
vì họ thuộc về thành phần dân mà Thiên Chúa muốn giải phóng họ khỏi cảnh nô
lệ và đưa họ đến bến bờ tự do. </font></p>
