<font face="Arial">Đức Giáo Hoàng Phanxicô đã cử hành Thánh Lễ Chúa Nhật 30
Mùa Thường Niên để đánh dấu việc kết thúc Phiên Thường Lệ thứ 14 của Thượng
Hội Đồng Giám Mục. Các vị đã tụ về Rôma tham dự 3 tuần lễ suy tư và thảo
luận về ơn gọi và sứ mệnh của gia đình trong Giáo Hội và trong thế giới hiện
nay. Trong Thánh Lễ này, Đức Thánh Cha đã đọc bài giảng sau đây:</font></p>

<font face="Arial">Giữa thảm họa quốc gia, dân bị kẻ thù tống xuất, Tiên tri
Giêrêmia đã công bố rằng “Chúa đã cứu dân Người, những kẻ còn lại của
Israel” (31:7). Tại sao Người lại cứu họ? Vì Người là Cha họ (xem câu 9); và
vì là người Cha, Người săn sóc con cái Người và đồng hành với họ, nâng đỡ
“người mù và người què, phụ nữ có con và phụ nữ đang lâm bồn” (31:8). Tình
phụ tử của Người mở ra cho họ con đường trước mặt, con đường ủi an sau bao
nhiêu nước mắt và buồn sầu lớn lao. Nếu dân trung thành, nếu họ trì chí
trong việc tìm kiếm Thiên Chúa dù trên đất lạ, Thiên Chúa sẽ biến cảnh tù
đầy của họ thành tự do, nỗi cô đơn của họ thành sự hiệp thông: những gì dân
gieo trong nước mắt hôm nay, ngày mai họ sẽ được gặt trong hân hoan (xem Tv
125:6).</font></p>

<font face="Arial">Với Thánh Vịnh trên, cả ta nữa, ta cũng nói lên niềm vui
vốn là hoa trái ơn cứu rỗi của Chúa: “miệng chúng con vang tiếng cười và
lưỡi chúng con vang lời ca hân hoan” (câu 2). Tín hữu là người cảm nghiệm
được hành động cứu rỗi của Thiên Chúa trong đời mình. Mục tử chúng ta đã
từng cảm nghiệm được ý nghĩa của việc gieo trong gian nan, nhiều lúc trong
nước mắt, và của hân hoan vì hồng ân ngày gặt vốn vượt quá sức và khả năng
ta.</font></p>

<font face="Arial">Đoạn trích từ Thư Do Thái cho ta thấy lòng cảm thương của
Chúa Giêsu. Người cũng “tứ bề yếu đuối” (5:2), để có thể cảm được lòng cảm
thương đối với những người ngu muội và lầm lạc. Chúa Giêsu là vị thượng phẩm
vĩ đại, thánh thiện và vô tội, nhưng cũng là vị thượng phẩm mang lấy các yếu
đuối của ta và bị cám dỗ như ta trong mọi sự, chỉ trừ tội lỗi (xem 4:15). Vì
lý do này, Người là Đấng Trung Gian của giao ước mới và vĩnh viễn đem lại
cho ta ơn cứu rỗi.</font></p>

<font face="Arial">Bài Tin Mừng hôm nay được trực tiếp liên kết với Bài Đọc
Một: dân Israel được giải thoát nhờ tình phụ tử của Cha như thế nào, thì
Bartimêô cũng được giải thoát nhờ lòng cảm thương của Chúa Giêsu như vậy.
Chúa Giêsu vừa rời Giêricô. Dù Người mới chỉ bắt đầu cuộc hành trình quan
trọng nhất của Người, một cuộc hành trình sẽ đưa Người lên Giêrusalem, Người
vẫn ngừng lại để đáp lại tiếng kêu xin của Bartimêô. Chúa Giêsu xúc động
trước lời cầu xin của anh ta và bằng lòng can dự vào tình thế của anh. Người
không bằng lòng với việc bố thí cho anh, nhưng muốn đích thân gặp gỡ anh ta.
Người không ra bất cứ chỉ thị hay đáp ứng nào, nhưng hỏi anh ta: “anh muốn

còn muốn gì nếu không phải là thị giác? Ấy thế nhưng, với câu hỏi, đưa ra
trong cảnh mặt đối mặt, trực tiếp mà kính trọng này, Chúa Giêsu muốn chứng
tỏ Người muốn nghe các nhu cầu của ta. Người muốn nói với mỗi người chúng ta
về cuộc sống ta, các tình huống có thực của ta, để không điều gì dấu Người
cả. Sau khi chữa lành cho Bartimêô, Chúa bảo anh: “Đức tin của anh đã cứu
anh” (câu 52). Đẹp xiết bao khi thấy Chúa Kitô khen đức tin của Bartimêô,
thấy Người tin tưởng ở anh ta. Người tin chúng ta, hơn là chúng ta tự tin
mình.</font></p>

<font face="Arial">Có một chi tiết đáng lưu ý. Chúa Giêsu yêu cầu các môn đệ
đi gọi Bartimêô tới. Các ngài nói với người mù này hai câu mà chỉ có Chúa
Giêsu dùng trong phần còn lại của bài Tin Mừng. Đầu tiên, các ngài nói với
anh ta “Cứ yên tâm!” một câu nghĩa đen là “hãy tin tưởng, hãy can đảm lên!”
Quả thực, chỉ có cuộc gặp gỡ với Chúa Giêsu mới cho người ta sức mạnh để
đương đầu với những tình huống khó khăn nhất mà thôi. Câu thứ hai là “hãy
đứng dậy”, như Chúa Giêsu đã nói với rất nhiều người bệnh, những người mà
Người cầm lấy ta và chữa lành cho. Các môn đệ không làm gì khác hơn là lặp
lại những lời đầy khích lệ và giải thoát, dẫn anh ta thẳng tới Chúa Giêsu,
mà không cần giảng giải dài dòng. Cả ngày nay nữa, và nhất là ngày nay, các
môn đệ của Chúa Giêsu đều được kêu gọi làm việc này: đem người ta tới giao
tiếp với Lòng Thương Xót đầy cảm thương vốn có tính cứu vớt. Khi tiếng kêu
của nhân loại, như tiếng kêu của Bartimêô, trở nên mạnh hơn nữa, thì chả còn
giải đáp nào khác hơn là biến lời lẽ của Chúa Giêsu thành của ta và trên
hết, bắt chước trái tim Người. Đối với Thiên Chúa, các thời khắc đau đớn và
tranh chấp chính là các dịp tỏ lòng thương xót. Nay là thời của lòng thương
xót!</font></p>

<font face="Arial">Tuy nhiên, có một số cám dỗ đối với những ai theo chân
Chúa Giêsu. Tin Mừng cho ta ít nhất 2 cơn cám dỗ. Không một môn đệ nào ngừng
lại, như Chúa Giêsu cả. Họ cứ tiếp tục bước đi, như không có gì xẩy ra. Nếu
Bartimêô mù thì họ đều điếc cả: vấn đề của anh ta đâu phải là vấn đề của các
ngài. Đây có thể là một nguy cơ đối với chúng ta: đứng trước các vấn đề khôn
nguôi, tốt nhất là bước đi cho khuất, hơn là để mình bị quấy rầy. Với cách
này, giống các môn đệ, ta tuy ở với Chúa Giêsu mà đâu có suy nghĩ như Người.
Chúng ta hiện diện trong nhóm của Người mà tâm hồn ta thì khép kín. Ta đánh
mất ngạc nhiên, biết ơn và hứng thú, và liều mình trở thành quen thuộc với
việc trơ trơ đối với ơn thánh. Ta có khả năng nói về Người và làm việc cho
Người, nhưng ta sống xa trái tim Người, một trái tim luôn vươn tới những
người bị thương tích. Cơn cám dỗ này chính là “một nền linh đạo ảo giác”: ta
có khả năng vượt qua các hoang địa của nhân loại mà không nhìn ra bất cứ
điều gì thực sự ở đó; thay vào đó, ta chỉ nhìn thấy những gì mình muốn mà
thôi. Ta có khả năng khai triển nhiều thế giới quan, nhưng lại không chấp
nhận những gì Chúa đặt trước mắt ta. Đức tin nào không biết cách tự bén rễ
vào đời sống người ta chỉ là thứ đức tin khô cằn, hơn là những ốc đảo, tạo
ra nhiều hoang địa khác.</font></p>

<font face="Arial">Cơn cám dỗ thứ hai là rơi vào một thứ “đức tin có thời
biểu”. Ta có khả năng bước đi với dân Chúa, nhưng ta đã có thời biểu cho
cuộc hành trình này rồi, theo đó, mọi sự đều đã được liệt kê: ta biết phải
đi đâu và đi bao lâu; mọi người phải tôn trọng nhịp độ của ta và bất cứ thắc
mắc nào cũng là một điều quấy rầy. Chúng ta có nguy cơ trở thành “nhiều
người” trong bài Tin Mừng, mất hết kiên nhẫn, đi trách Bartimêô. Chỉ ít phút
trước, họ đã la mắng các trẻ em (xem 1o:13), và nay họ la mắng người hành
khất mù lòa: bất cứ ai quấy rầy ta hoặc không thuộc tầm cỡ ta thì đều bị
loại trừ. Trái lại, Chúa Giêsu muốn bao gồm, trên hết, những ai bị giữ ở
ngoại vi, đang kêu xin Người. Giống Bartimêô, họ có niềm tin, vì biết mình
cần được cứu rỗi là cách hay nhất để gặp được Chúa Giêsu.</font></p>

<font face="Arial">Cuối cùng, Bartimêô bước theo Chúa Giêsu (xem câu 52).
Anh ta không những được phục hồi thị giác, mà còn tham gia cộng đoàn những
người theo chân Chúa Giêsu. Các nghị phụ Thượng Hội Đồng thân mến, chúng ta
đã bước đi với nhau. Xin cám ơn các hiền huynh về hành trình chúng ta cùng
đi với nhau, trong khi đôi mắt rõi nhìn Chúa Giêsu và các anh chị em của ta,
để tìm ra những nẻo đường mà Tin Mừng đã chỉ ra cho thời đại ta, ngõ hầu ta
có thể công bố mầu nhiệm tình yêu gia đình. Ta hãy bước theo nẻo đường Chúa
muốn. Ta hãy xin Người quay nhìn ta bằng cái nhìn chữa lành và cứu vớt, một
cái nhìn biết phải rõi sáng ra sao vì nó vốn nhắc nhớ vẻ sáng lạn từng soi
sáng nó. Đừng bao giờ để ta bị vấy bẩn bởi bi quan hay tội lỗi, ta hãy tìm
kiếm và trông vào vinh quang Thiên Chúa, một vinh quang hằng chiếu rọi nơi
những người nam nữ đang sống động cách trọn vẹn.</font></td>
