Kitô”, chúng ta phải hạ mình xuống, như Chúa Giêsu đã làm trên Thánh Giá.
Đây là thông điệp trọng tâm bài giảng của Đức Thánh Cha Phanxicô vào sáng
thứ Hai 14 tháng 9 trong Thánh Lễ Suy Tôn Thánh Giá tại nhà nguyện Santa
Marta, cùng với sự tham dự của các Hồng Y thuộc nhóm 9 vị Hồng Y cố vấn đang
họp tại Vatican cho đến ngày 16 tháng 9.</font></p>

trong ngày kể về con rắn trong sa mạc và những cám dỗ mà ma quỷ quyến rũ
chúng ta để rồi tiêu diệt chúng ta. Ngài lưu ý rằng nhân vật chính trong dụ
ngôn này là một con rắn, là ma quỷ, là “đứa xảo quyệt và có tài quyến rũ”.</font></p>

dối trá, hay ghen ghét, và vì sự ghen tị của ma quỷ, tội lỗi đã lẻn vào thế
gian. Tài cám dỗ chúng ta của ma quỷ triệt hạ chúng ta.”</font></p>

đến lúc chúng ta tỉnh ngộ giá phải trả là rất cao.”</font></p>

<font face="Arial">Đề cập đến Thánh Phaolô, là người đã nổi giận nói với các
Kitô hữu thành Galát rằng “Hỡi những người Galát ngu xuẩn, ai đã mê hoặc anh
em là những người đã được thấy hình ảnh Đức Giêsu Kitô chịu đóng đinh vào
thập giá phơi bày ra trước mắt?. . Anh em ngu xuẩn như thế sao?.. Bấy nhiêu
kinh nghiệm anh em đã trải qua, lại uổng công sao?” (Thư Galát 3:1-4), Đức
Thánh Cha nói họ đã bị con rắn này làm cho hư hỏng. Điều này, Đức Thánh Cha
nhận xét rằng, không có gì là lạ; người dân Israel ý thức được điều đó.</font></p>

<font face="Arial">Đức Giáo Hoàng sau đó đã đề cập đến câu chuyện Chúa nói
với ông Môsê, “hãy làm một con rắn bằng đồng và những ai [bị rắn cắn] ngước
nhìn lên nó sẽ được cứu”. Điều này, Đức Thánh Cha giải thích rằng cũng là
“một lời tiên tri, một lời hứa không phải là dễ hiểu”. Đó là lý do tại sao
Chúa Giêsu nói với ông Nicôđêmô, "Như ông Môise treo con rắn trong sa mạc
lên, cũng thế Con Người cũng sẽ bị treo lên, để ai tin vào Ngài thì được sự
sống đời đời.”</font></p>

giản bởi vì Ngài đã đến để gánh lên trên vai mình tất cả tội lỗi của chúng
ta, và Ngài đã trở thành tội nhân lớn nhất mà chẳng hề mắc bất cứ tội lỗi

<font face="Arial">“Chúng ta thường nhìn thấy những bức tranh đẹp mô tả lúc
Chúa Giêsu chịu treo trên thập giá, nhưng thực tế khác rất xa. Thân thể Ngài
đã bị rách nát và đẫm máu bởi tội lỗi của chúng ta. Đây là con đường Chúa đã
chọn để đánh bại con rắn theo đường lối của mình. Chúng ta phải nhìn vào
Thập Giá của Chúa Giêsu, không phải vào những đường nét nghệ thuật, vào
những bức tranh đẹp, nhưng vào thực tế. Và chúng ta phải hướng nhìn vào con
đường của Ngài, và nhìn vào Thiên Chúa, là Đấng tiêu diệt chính mình, là
Đấng đã cúi xuống để cứu chúng ta.”</font></p>

như sau: “Con đường của người Kitô hữu là nếu ai muốn tiến trên con đường
đời sống Kitô, người ấy phải biết tự hạ mình như Chúa Giêsu. Đó là con đường
của sự khiêm nhường, vâng, điều đó cũng có nghĩa là người ấy phải gánh lấy
nhục nhã vào mình như Chúa Giêsu đã làm.”</font></td>
