lòng hoàn toàn vì Công đồng Chính thống này khó có thể coi là một Công đồng
đại kết “vì các Kitô hữu Tây phương không được mời tham gia.”</font></p>

<font face="Arial">Công đồng toàn Chính Thống giáo đã được đề nghị từ năm
1961, nhưng cho đến nay chưa tiến hành được. Vì nhiều tranh luận không được
giải quyết, nên có nhiều người nghi ngờ không biết Công đồng dự kiến vào năm
tới có thể tiến hành được không. Đức Thượng Phụ Bácthôlômêô rất muốn mời Tòa
Thánh đến dự Công đồng này nhưng e sợ các chống đối có thể khiến Công đồng
không thể tiến hành được.</font></p>

trong những năm gần đây với các nhà lãnh đạo của Tòa Thượng Phụ Mạc Tư Khoa.
Một đoạn trong diễn từ của ngài rõ ràng là nhằm chỉ trích các lãnh đạo Chính
thống Nga khi ngài phê phán rằng trong Giáo Hội Chính Thống có các thể chế
“duy trì một mối quan hệ mật thiết với nhà nước nhằm tận hưởng những hỗ trợ
tài chính dồi dào,” và thúc đẩy các lợi ích chính trị của quốc gia mình.</font></p>
