trong đó người Công Giáo chiếm 24% dân số. Người Hồi Giáo chỉ chiếm 11% tại
quốc gia. Tuy nhiên, trong thời gian qua, nhiều nhóm cực đoan Hồi Giáo đã
muốn biến Kenya thành một quốc gia Hồi Giáo. Lúc 5:30 sáng ngày thứ Năm 2
tháng 4, tức là thứ Năm Tuần Thánh vừa qua, bọn khủng bố Al-Shabaab với chủ
trương nhằm thiết lập một nhà nước Hồi Giáo theo luật Sharia tại Kenya đã
gây ra cuộc thảm sát tại Đại Học Garissa, cách thủ đô Nairobi của Kenya
350km về hướng Đông Bắc và cách biên giới với Somali 150km. 148 sinh viên bị
giết chết và 79 sinh viên khác bị thương nặng.</font></p>

nhiều năm tại nước này cùng với Abdirahim Abdullahi, đã từng tốt nghiệp Luật
Khoa tại đại học Nairobi vào năm 2013 và là con trai của tỉnh trưởng tỉnh
Mandera, ở phía Bắc Kenya, giáp biên giới với Kenya đã dẫn đường cho bọn
khủng bố Al-Shabaab từ Somali đột nhập vào Kenya gây ra cuộc thảm sát này.
Abdirahim Abdullahi bị bắn chết cùng với 3 tên khủng bố khác trong khi
Mohamed Mohamud nhanh chân tẩu thoát. Chính phủ trao giải thưởng lên đến
215,000 Mỹ Kim cho ai chỉ điểm dẫn đến việc bắt sống hay giết chết y nhưng
đến nay vẫn chưa biết tông tích tên khủng bố này.</font></p>

nhóm khoảng 20 người tự xưng là linh mục Công Giáo đã thành lập ra cái gọi
là Giáo Hội Công Giáo Tông Truyền Uganda với chủ trương chống lại luật độc
thân linh mục, lôi kéo được trên 10,000 người. Leonard Lubega, người lãnh
đạo giáo phái này, tự gọi mình là linh mục dù ông ta chưa từng được truyền
chức linh mục. Một nhân vật lãnh đạo khác của giáo phái này từng là một linh
mục Chính thống giáo, chứ không phải linh mục Công Giáo.</font></p>

được nhiều thành phố và ngày 24 tháng Ba năm 2013 chiếm được thủ đô Bangui.

Tòa Thánh tấn phong Giám Mục Phó giáo phận Bảo Định với quyền kế vị. Ngài bị
bắt vào tháng 5 năm 1996 cùng với Đức Cha Giacôbê Tô Chí Dân. Trong vòng 10
năm người ta không biết chính xác các ngài bị giam giữ tại đâu.</font></p>

do nhưng bị quản thúc tại gia. Đức Cha Giacôbê Tô Chí Dân tiếp tục bị giam
giữ. Tháng 11 năm 2003, có người thấy Đức Cha Giacôbê đang nằm điều trị
trong bệnh viện của Công An Bảo Định. Từ đó cho đến nay người ta không biết
ngài bị giam giữ nơi nào.</font></p>

linh mục và anh chị em giáo dân tại Bảo Định, cuối tháng Mười năm 2009, Đức
Cha Phanxicô An Thụ Tân và 10 linh mục thầm lặng quyết định gia nhập Hội
Công Giáo Yêu Nước. Hệ quả của hành động này là Trung quốc nhanh chóng công
nhận ngài là Giám Mục giáo phận Bảo Định.</font></p>
