Phanxicô đã tiếp kiến ông Reuven Rivlin, Tổng thống Israel. Theo Phòng Báo
chí Toà Thánh, cuộc hội kiến đã đề cập đến “tình hình chính trị-xã hội của
khu vực đang có nhiều xung đột”, đặc biệt hai nhà lãnh đạo đã lưu tâm đến số
phận của các Kitô hữu giáo và các nhóm thiểu số khác.</font></p>

và việc các nhà lãnh đạo tôn giáo tham gia vào tiến trình hoà giải và xây
dựng hoà bình”. Hai vị cũng đồng ý với nhau về “tầm quan trọng của sự phục
hồi tin tưởng giữa người Israel và người Palestine, cũng như cấp thiết phải
nối lại các cuộc đàm phán trực tiếp, bàn về một thỏa thuận tôn trọng các
nguyện vọng chính đáng của nhân dân hai nước, đó sẽ là cơ sở cho nền hoà
bình và ổn định của toàn khu vực”.</font></p>

song phương trong cuộc đàm phán và đi đến giải pháp cho một số điểm hai bên
cùng quan tâm, như tình trạng của các trường học Kitô giáo ở Israel”.</font></p>

hoàng Phanxicô tặng ông Rivlin một kỷ niệm chương bằng đồng mà trước đó ngài
chưa bao giờ tặng cho vị khách nào. Tấm kỷ niệm chương gồm hai khối riêng
biệt, ở giữa là một nhánh ô liu, dấu hiệu của hoà bình, xung quanh ghi hàng
chữ: “Hãy tìm kiếm những gì hợp nhất, hãy vượt qua những gì chia rẽ”.</font></p>

rất thích đáng khi nhắc lại rằng Do Thái giáo và Kitô giáo có chung một
nguồn gốc”.</font></td>
