đã nói về tình trạng nhiều Kitô hữu trên thế giới đang tiếp tục bị bách hại
với sự im lặng đồng lõa của nhiều nhà lãnh đạo các cường quốc trên thế giới.
Thậm chí ngày nay, “các tín hữu Kitô còn bị bách hại trầm trọng hơn trong
những thời kỳ sơ khai của Giáo Hội. Họ bị giết, đuổi ra khỏi nhà, bị cướp,
bị bóc lột, chỉ vì họ là Kitô hữu”</font></p>

<font face="Arial">“Anh em thân mến, không có Thiên Chúa giáo nếu không có
bách hại. Hãy nhớ đến mối phúc cuối cùng trong Tám Mối Phúc Thật: [Ai chịu
khốn nạn vì đạo ngay, ấy là phúc thật, vì chưng nước Đức Chúa Trời là
của mình vậy.] Nếu người ta tống cổ anh em ra khỏi hội đường, ngược đãi anh
em, chửi rủa anh em, anh em hãy biết đó là số phận của một Kitô hữu. Ngày
nay cũng vậy, điều này xảy ra trước mắt thế giới, với sự im lặng đồng lõa
của nhiều nhà lãnh đạo các cường quốc là những người có thể ngăn chặn điều
đó. Chúng ta đang đối mặt với số phận của người Kitô hữu, đó là đi trên cùng
một con đường Chúa Giêsu đã đi qua”.</font></p>

rất lớn: đó là cuộc thảm sát những người Armenia. Đây là quốc gia đầu tiên
cải đạo sang Thiên Chúa giáo: nước đầu tiên. Họ đã bị đàn áp chỉ vì là các
Kitô hữu. Những người Armenia đã bị đàn áp, bị đuổi ra khỏi quê hương của
họ, không nơi nương tựa, chết trong sa mạc.”</font></p>

với Chúa Giêsu. Những gì họ đã làm với Chúa Giêsu, thì họ đã lập lại trong
suốt quá trình lịch sử trên chính nhiệm thể của Ngài, là Giáo Hội.”</font></p>

Thể đầu tiên của tôi với anh em như những anh em Giám Mục với nhau, các anh
em Giám Mục và Thượng Phụ và tất cả các tín hữu Armenia và các linh mục thân
mến, tôi muốn ôm anh chị em vào lòng và tưởng nhớ cuộc bách hại này mà anh
chị em đã phải gánh chịu, trong khi nhớ đến những người thánh thiện, đến cơ
man những vị thánh của anh chị em là những người đã phải chết vì đói, vì

<font face="Arial">Đức Thánh Cha cũng nhắc nhớ cuộc đàn áp rộng lớn hơn mà
các Kitô hữu ngày nay đang phải chịu. “Ngay trong thời đại chúng ta đây,
trên các tờ báo, chúng ta đọc thấy những kinh hoàng do những nhóm khủng bố
gây ra, như cắt cổ họng những người chỉ vì họ là Kitô hữu. Chúng ta hãy nghĩ
