Công lý và Hòa bình giải thích rằng:<br>

”Đây là sứ điệp thứ 3 của ĐTC Phanxicô nhân Ngày Hòa Bình thế giới. Sự dửng
dưng lãnh đạm đối với những tai ương ngày nay là một trong những lý do chính
làm cho thiếu hòa bình trên thế giới. Sự dửng dưng ngày nay thường gắn liền
với nhiều hình thức cá nhân chủ nghĩa, tạo nên sự cô lập, u mê, ích kỷ, và
do đó không dấn thân. Sự gia tăng thông tin tự nó không có nghĩa là gia tăng
sự chú ý đối với các vấn đề, nếu không kèm theo một sự cởi mở của lương tâm
con người theo chiều hướng liên đới; và với mục đích ấy, điều tối cần thiết
là sự đóng góp của các giáo chức, các nhà đào tạo, các nhân viên văn hóa và
truyền thông, các nhà trí thức và các nghệ sĩ, có thể dành cho các gia đình.
Ta chỉ có thể khắc phục sự dửng dưng bằng cách cùng nhau đương đầu với thách
đố này.”<br>

”Hòa bình cần phải được chinh phục: đó không phải là một thiện ích người ta
có thể đạt được mà không cần cố gắng, không cần hoán cải, không có tinh thần
sáng tạo và trao đổi. Vấn đề ở đây là gây ý thức và huấn luyện về ý thức
trách nhiệm đối với những vấn đề rất trầm trọng đang đè nặng trên gia đình
nhân loại, như trào lưu cực đoan và các cuộc thảm sát do nó gây ra, những
cuộc bách hại vì tín ngưỡng và chủng tộc, những vi phạm tự do và các quyền
của các dân tộc, sự bóc lột và nô lệ hóa con người, nạn tham nhũng và tội
phạm có tổ chức, chiến tranh và thảm trạng người tị nạn và cưỡng bách di dân.
Đồng thời công trình gây ý thức và huấn luyện như thế cũng liên quan tới
những cơ hội và những dịp bài trừ các tai ương ấy: phát triển một nền văn
hóa tôn trọng luật pháp và giáo dục về đối thoại và cộng tác là những hình
thức cơ bản về phản ứng xây dựng trong bối cảnh này.<br>

”Một lãnh vực trong đó hòa bình có thể được xây dựng ngày qua ngày bằng cách
vượt thắng sự dửng dưng, đó là lãnh vực những hình thức nô lệ trên thế giới
ngày nay, cũng là đề tài sứ điệp Ngày Hòa Bình thế giới 2015 ”Không còn là
nô lệ nhưng là anh chị em”. Cần tiếp tục sự dấn thân này, với ý thức và gia
tăng cộng tác.<br>

”Hòa bình là điều có thể tại nơi nào quyền của mỗi người được nhìn nhận và
tôn trọng, theo tự do và công lý. Sứ điệp năm 2016 muốn là một văn kiện từ
đó khởi hành để tất cả mọi người thiện chí, đặc biệt là những người làm việc
trong ngành giáo dục, văn hóa và trong các phương tiện truyền thông, hành
động - mỗi người theo khẳ năng và khát vọng tốt đẹp nhất của mình - cùng
nhau kiến tạo một thế giới ý thức và từ bi hơn, và nhờ đó xây dựng một thế
giới tự do và công chính hơn”.</font></td>
