<font face="Arial">Hôm thứ Năm 6 tháng 8, quân khủng bố Hồi Giáo IS đã bất
ngờ mở cuộc tấn công dữ dội vào al-Qaryatayn, một thị trấn miền trung Syria
nơi có 15,000 dân phần lớn là các tín hữu Kitô, và bắt đi hàng trăm cư dân
của thị trấn này.<br>

Tờ International Business Times số ra thứ Hai 10 tháng 8 cho biết, ít nhất
150 tín hữu Kitô đã bị bắt khi quân khủng bố Hồi Giáo IS chiếm được thị trấn
này.<br>

Đức Cha Antoine Audo, Giám Mục Công Giáo nghi lễ Chanđê của Aleppo than thở
với Radio Vatican rằng các tín hữu Kitô trong vùng đang bị thảm sát trước sự
thờ ơ của thế giới. Ngài nói: “Mục tiêu của cái gọi là Nhà nước Hồi giáo là
buộc Kitô hữu phải di cư.”<br>
<br>
“Nếu chiến tranh tiếp tục như thế này thì cuối cùng tất cả các Kitô hữu sẽ
phải rời khỏi Syria.”<br>
<br>
Quân khủng bố Hồi Giáo IS hiện kiểm soát 1/3 lãnh thổ của Iraq và hơn một
nửa lãnh thổ Syria. Chúng đang tiến về phía Sadad, một thị trấn 3,500 dân
cách al-Qaryatayn 20 dặm, tạo ra một làn sóng chạy nạn mới.</font></td>
