<font face="Arial">Hôm thứ Hai mùng 6 tháng 7, Đức Thánh Cha đã rời thủ đô
Quito để bay tới thành phố Guayaquil cử hành thánh lễ lúc 11:15 tại quảng
trường trước Đền Thánh Lòng Chúa Thương Xót.<br>

Trong bài giảng đầu tiên của chuyến Tông du tới Nam Mỹ, Đức Giáo Hoàng
Phanxicô đã tập trung vào Đức Maria như là một mô hình cho các gia đình khi
ngài đề cập đến trình thuật Tin Mừng về tiệc cưới tại Cana. Hơn một triệu
người đã tham dự Thánh Lễ do Đức Thánh Cha cử hành tại thành phố Guayaquil.<br>

Đức Thánh Cha nói: “Phép lạ của Chúa Kitô ở Cana - biến nước thành rượu - đã
được thực hiện, chính vì Đức Trinh Nữ Maria rất chu đáo, đặt mối quan tâm
của mình trong tay Chúa, và đã hành động nhạy cảm và can đảm."<br>

Đức Thánh Cha Phanxicô nhận xét là Đức Mẹ lo lắng cho các nhu cầu của cặp
mới cưới, chú ý tới những người khác, và không đóng kín trong chinh mình. Có
rất nhiều trường hợp ngày hôm nay chúng ta có thể thấy rằng "rượu" - một dấu
hiệu của "hạnh phúc, tình yêu, và sự dư dật" - đã hết: "Có bao nhiêu thanh
thiếu niên của chúng ta và những người trẻ tuổi cảm thấy lạc lõng trong
chính ngôi nhà của họ? Có bao nhiêu phụ nữ, buồn bã và cô đơn, tự hỏi khi
nào tình yêu ra đi, khi nào nó trượt ra khỏi cuộc sống của họ? Làm thế nào
nhiều người già cảm thấy bi gạt ra khỏi các lễ kỷ niệm trong gia đình, gạt
sang một bên và khao khát mỗi ngày cho một chút tình yêu? "<br>

Đức Mẹ đáp lại sự thiếu rượu bằng cách đến gần Chúa Giêsu với sự tự tin,
bằng cách cầu nguyện. Đức Thánh Cha Phanxicô nói, "Đức Mẹ dạy chúng ta phải
đặt các gia đình minh trong bàn tay của Thiên Chúa, để cầu nguyện, để khơi
dậy niềm hy vọng trong chúng ta rằng mối quan tâm của chúng ta cũng là mối
quan tâm của Thiên Chúa. Cầu nguyện luôn luôn nâng chúng ta ra khỏi những lo
lắng và quan tâm của chúng ta . "<br>

Cuối cùng, Đức Thánh Cha nói, Đức Mẹ đã hoạt động. Lời nói của Mẹ tại tiệc
cưới là - "Hãy làm bất cứ điều gì Ngài nói với bạn" - cũng là "một lời mời
để chúng ta mở lòng mình ra cho Chúa Giêsu, Đấng đã đến để phục vụ chứ không
để được phục vụ." , chúng ta hiểu điều này đặc biệt trong bối canh gia đình
, nơi mà chúng ta học được sự phục vụ người khác, và là nơi không ai bị từ
chối. Các gia đình "hình thành nên vốn qúy nhất của xã hội " và "không thể

Các gia đình, ngài nói, cũng là "một Giáo Hội thu nhỏ, một "Giáo Hội tại
gia” mà, cùng với cuộc sống, cũng là trung gian dịu dàng cho lòng thương xót
của Thiên Chúa. "Mặc dù gia đình của chúng ta đôi khi không đúng như những
gì chúng ta mong đợi, không hoàn toàn là lý tưởng mà chúng ta hình dung cho
chính mình, dù thế đi nữa, mỗi ngày trong gia đình "phép lạ đều được thực
hiện" với nhung gì ít ỏi chúng ta có. "Trong gia đình nhỏ của chúng ta và
trong gia đình lớn mà tất cả chúng ta thuộc về, không có gì bị bỏ đi, không
có gì là vô dụng." Đức Thánh Cha cũng đã xin anh chi em cầu nguyện cho
Thượng Hội Đồng về gia đình ", để Chúa Kitô có thể nhận lấy ngay cả những

Sau thánh lễ Đức Thánh Cha đã dùng bữa trưa lúc 2 giờ chiều với cộng đoàn
dòng Tên và đoàn tùy tùng, trước khi đáp máy bay lúc 5 giờ 10 phút chiều để
trở về thủ đô Quito khoảng 6 giờ chiều, rồi đến viếng thăm Tổng thống
Ecuador tại dinh Carondelet. Sau đó ngài đến viếng nhà thờ chính tòa Quito.</font></td>
