<font face="Arial">Các giám mục Venezuela cảnh báo rằng hôn nhân và gia đình
tại quốc gia này sẽ bị suy yếu theo sau một phán quyết của tòa án tối cao
theo đó vợ chồng có thể ly dị mà không cần trưng ra bất kỳ bằng chứng nào về
hành vi sai trái của người phối ngẫu.<br>

Các giám mục đã mạnh mẽ phản đối một phán quyết hôm 06 tháng 6 của Tòa án
tối cao Venezuela. Phán quyết truyền rằng từ nay các cặp vợ chồng có thể ly
dị "nếu cùng đồng ý mà không cần bất kỳ điều kiện nào khác".<br>

Các giám mục đã viết rằng phán quyết này sẽ mở toang "cánh cửa dẫn tới một
chế độ ly hôn ngẫu hứng chẳng vì lý do nào, do đó làm suy yếu cấu trúc gia
đình. Điều này phủ nhận các quyền tự nhiên của hôn nhân và làm mất sự ổn
định gia đình, và hạ thấp tầm quan trọng của hôn nhân vốn là nền tảng tự
nhiên của gia đình."<br>

Trước diễn biến này, các Giám Mục chỉ ra rằng Giáo Hội là Mẹ và là Thầy, và
với giáo huấn của các Giáo hoàng và Huấn Quyền "chúng tôi công bố tính ưu
việt và bất khả xâm phạm của gia đình, và của mọi sự sống con người từ lúc
thụ thai đến cái chết tự nhiên. Vì vậy, nơi thích hợp nhất cho sự phát triển
tự nhiên của con người là trong các gia đình bình thường. "</font></td>
