thách này là nghèo khổ. Chúng ta hãy nghĩ tới nhiều gia đình sống chen chúc
ở các vùng ngoại ô của những đại đô thị đông đúc, nhưng cũng ở cả các miền
thôn quê nữa... Biết bao nhiêu là nghèo khổ, biết bao nhiêu là hèn hạ! Thế
rồi, còn tệ hơn nữa, thậm chí còn xẩy ra chiến tranh ở một số nơi. Chiến
tranh bao giờ cũng là những gì kinh khủng. Nó đặc biệt ảnh hưởng đến dân
chúng, đến các gia đình. Chiến tranh quả thực là "mẹ của tất cả mọi thứ
nghèo khổ", nó bần cùng hóa gia đình, là một con thú to con bắt mồi sự sống,
bắt mồi linh hồn, và tác hại cả những con người linh thánh nhất và đáng yêu
nhất. </font></p>

tin tưởng vào phúc lành của Thiên Chúa. Tuy nhiên, không được sử dụng cái
gương sống này để biện minh cho thái độ dửng dưng lạnh lùng của chúng ta,
trái lại nó còn làm gia tăng sự hổ nhục của chúng ta nữa! Rất ư là nhiều
nghèo khổ! Ngay cả ở trong cảnh nghèo khổ, gia đình tiếp tục hình thành và
thậm chí còn bảo trì bao nhiêu có thể tính chất nhân bản nơi những liên hệ
của họ, hầu như đó là một phép lạ. Sự kiện này gây phiền nhiễu cho những
chuyên viên phác họa về sự phúc lợi là thành phần coi những cảm xúc, việc
truyền sinh, các mối liên hệ gia đình, như là những gì thứ yếu có thể thay
đổi nơi phẩm chất của đời sống. Họ chẳng hiểu gì hết! Trái lại, chúng ta cần

<font face="Arial">Vậy thì sẽ còn lại những gì nếu chúng ta chịu thua trước
việc đe dọa tống tiền của Cesa (có lẽ ở đây ĐTC ám chỉ Quyền Lực) và của
Mommom (chữ này tự nó có ý nghĩa là giầu sang phú quí), của bạo động và tiền
bạc và chúng ta loại bỏ đi những cảm tình gia đình? Chỉ có được một đạo lý
dân sự mới chỉ khi nào những ai có trách nhiệm với đời sống của quần chúng
biết tái cấu tạo mối liên hệ xã hội bằng cuộc chiến đấu chống lại cơn lốc
xoáy hủy hoại giữa gia đình và cảnh nghèo khổ, một cơn lốc xoáy đang dẫn

<font face="Arial">Kinh tế ngày nay thường được tập trung vào việc hoan
hưởng phúc lợi cá nhân, nhưng lại thực hiện một cách rộng rãi việc khai thác
những mối liên hệ gia đình. Đó là một thứ mâu thuẫn trầm trọng! Công việc
lớn lao của gia đình theo tự nhiên không được nhắc đến trong các bản tường
trình về tài chính! Thật vậy, kinh tế và chính trị tỏ ra keo kiệt trong việc
nhìn nhận vấn đề này. Tuy nhiên, việc hình thành nội tâm của con người và
việc luân lưu tình cảm xã hội lại cắm cọc chính ở chỗ đó. Nếu anh chị em bỏ
nó đi thì tất cả đều bị sụp đổ.</font></p>

<font face="Arial">Đây không phải chỉ là vấn đề lương thực nuôi sống. Chúng
ta nói về công ăn việc làm, về vấn đề giáo dục, về vấn đề sức khỏe nữa. rất
cần phải hiểu điều ấy. Chúng ta bao giờ cũng cảm thấy thật xúc động khi nhìn
thấy các tấm hình trẻ em thiếu thốn mọi sự, những trẻ em ở trong những
trường học chẳng có gì hết, đang hãnh diện tỏ ra cho thấy rằng mình có được
những cây bút chì và những tập giấy viết. Vậy làm thế nào chúng nhìn vào
thày cô của chúng một cách yêu thương đây! Trẻ em thật sự biết rằng con
người ta không sống nguyên bởi bánh! Đối với tình cảm gia đình: khi sống
nghèo khổ, trẻ em chịu đựng vì chúng muốn yêu thương, muốn có được mối liên
hệ gia đình. </font></p>

<font face="Arial">Kitô hữu chúng ta bao giờ cũng cần phải tỏ ra gần gũi hơn
nữa với các gia đình bị nghèo khổ thử thách. Thế nhưng chúng ta hãy nghĩ về
họ: tất cả mọi anh chị em đều biết được một người nào đó; biết một người cha
không có việc làm, một người mẹ thất nghiệp, và gia đình phải chịu đựng!
Những mối liên hệ trở nên yếu kém. Đó là những gì xấu. </font></p>

<font face="Arial">Thật vậy, cảnh nghèo khổ về xã hội đang tấn công gia đình
và có những lúc hủy hoại gia đình. Tình trạng thiếu việc làm hay mất việc
làm, hoặc tính cách bếp bênh thật nhiều của việc làm, đều có ảnh hưởng trầm
trọng đối với đời sống gia đình, gây thử thách dữ dội nơi các mối liên hệ.
Những điều kiện sinh sống ở những vùng lân cận thiếu thốn, liên quan đến vấn
đề nhà cửa và chuyển vận, cùng với việc giảm thiểu các dịch vụ về xã hội,
sức khỏe và giáo dục, là những gì càng gây thêm khó khăn. Tình trạng thiệt
hại gây ra bởi những mô thức giả hiệu ấy có thể được thêm vào với những yếu
tố vật chất này, được các phương tiện truyền thông đại chúng phổ biến theo
chủ nghĩa hưởng thụ và tôn thờ ngoại diện, là những gì ảnh hưởng tới các
tầng lớp xã hội nghèo khổ nhất và gia tăng tình trạng bại hoại nơi các mối
liên hệ gia đình. Cho dù có chăm sóc cho gia đình, có chăm sóc cho những mối
liên hệ tình cảm thì cảnh khốn khổ vẫn là những gì thách đố gia đình. </font></p>

<font face="Arial">Giáo Hội là một người mẹ, không được quên đi thảm trạng
này của con cái mình. Cả Giáo Hội nữa cũng phải nghèo, phải trở nên phong
phú và đáp ứng với rất nhiều cùng khốn như thế. Một Giáo Hội nghèo là một
Giáo Hội thực hành tính chất đơn sơ giản dị tự nguyện trong đời sống của
mình - nơi các cơ cấu của mình, nơi lối sống của phần tử mình - để phá đổ
hết mọi bức tường ngăn cách, nhất là bởi người nghèo. Cần phải cầu nguyện và
làm việc. Chúng ta hãy tha thiết cầu cùng Chúa, để Ngài làm chúng ta rung
động, làm cho các gia đình Kitô hữu thành những vai chính cho cuộc cách mạng
về việc gắn bó gia đình, một cuộc cách mạng hiện nay rất cần thiết! Giáo Hội,
ngay từ đầu, đã được làm nên bởi điều này, bởi việc gắn bó gia đình. Chúng
ta không được quên rằng vấn đề nhận định về thành phần thiếu thốn, về những
con người hèn mọn và về người nghèo là những gì hướng đến việc phán xét của
Thiên Chúa (Mathêu 25:31-46). Chúng ta đừng quên điều ấy. Chúng ta hãy làm
tất cả mọi sự có thể để giúp các gia đình tiến bước qua những thử thách
nghèo khổ và khốn cùng đang tấn công các mối tình cảm gia đình, các mối liên
hệ gia đình. </font></p>

<font face="Arial">Tôi xin đọc lại một lần nữa bài Thánh kinh chúng ta đã
nghe từ đầu. Mỗi một người trong chúng ta cần phải nghĩ về các gia đình đang
bị thử thách, bị thử thách bởi khốn cùng, bởi nghèo khổ. Thánh Kinh viết: "Hỡi
con, đừng lấy mất những gì cần sống của người nghèo, và đừng để cho mắt của
những ai thiếu thốn đợi trông". Chúng ta hãy suy nghĩ về từng lời này. "Đừng
làm buồn phiền kẻ đang đói khát, đừng giận dữ ai đang thiếu thốn. Đừng gây
thêm nữa những trục trặc của một tâm trí giận dữ, đừng chậm trễ tặng ban cho
kẻ ăn xin. Đừng tẩy chay một ai sầu khổ van xin, đừng quay đi tránh né khỏi
người nghèo. Đừng tránh né nhìn người thiếu thốn, đừng tạo cớ cho người ta
nguyền rủa các người; vì trong sự cay cực của linh hồn họ thốt lên lời
nguyền rủa các người..." (Ws 4:1-6). Vì đó là những gì Chúa sẽ làm, Phúc Âm
