<font face="Arial">Kitô hữu phải hiểu rằng họ không thể thăng tiến trong đời
sống Kitô mà không có ơn phù trợ của Thiên Chúa, Đức Thánh Cha đã nói như
trên trong bài giảng thánh lễ sáng thứ Năm 18 tháng Sáu tại nhà nguyện Santa
Marta. Ngài ghi nhận rằng, nếu chúng ta muốn cầu nguyện cho nên, chúng ta
phải sẵn sàng tha thứ cho những người anh em của chúng ta. Trọng tâm bài
giảng của Đức Thánh Cha đã xoay quanh ba chủ đề là sự yếu đuối, cầu nguyện,
và tha thứ.</font></p>

<font face="Arial">“Ai tin rằng mình là mạnh mẽ, ai tin rằng mình có khả
năng bằng sức riêng của mình, người ấy là ngây thơ, và cuối cùng vẫn chỉ là
một con người bị đánh bại bởi quá nhiều yếu điểm người đó mang trong mình:
sự yếu đuối đó khiến chúng ta phải kêu cầu ơn phù trợ của Thiên Chúa vì như
chúng ta vừa cầu nguyện ‘với sự yếu đuối của chúng con, chúng con chẳng làm
được gì nếu không có ơn phù trợ của Chúa’. Chúng ta không thể thăng tiến
trong đời sống Kitô của chúng ta mà không có sự giúp đỡ của Chúa, vì chúng
ta là những con người yếu đuối. Và ai đang trên đường thì hãy cảnh giác để
đừng vấp ngã bởi vì người ấy yếu đuối”.</font></p>

<font face="Arial">Chúng ta thậm chí còn non yếu cả trong đức tin. “Tất cả
chúng ta đều có đức tin. Chúng ta đều muốn thăng tiến trong đời sống Kitô,
nhưng nếu chúng ta không ý thức về sự yếu đuối của mình, cuối cùng rồi chúng
ta cũng hoàn toàn bị đánh bại.” Có một lời cầu nguyện đẹp nói lên điều này:
“Lạy Chúa, con biết rằng trong sự yếu đuối của con, con còn có thể làm được
gì nếu không có ơn phù trợ của Ngài”.</font></p>

<font face="Arial">Đức Thánh Cha sau đó đã chuyển sang những suy nghĩ của
ngài về “cầu nguyện”. Ngài nhận định rằng Chúa Giêsu, đã dạy chúng ta cầu
nguyện, “nhưng không phải như một người ngoại đạo” là người nghĩ rằng họ sẽ
được lắng nghe nếu họ nói tràng giang đại hải. Đức Thánh Cha nhắc nhớ câu
chuyện bà mẹ ông Samuel là người đã xin Thiên Chúa ban ơn cho có một con
trai, và cầu nguyện đơn giản bằng cách mấp máy đôi môi mình. Một tư tế có
mặt ở đó, nhìn thấy bà và tin rằng bà đang say rượu và mắng bà.</font></p>

này đã làm điều này với tôi, còn người kia đã làm điều nọ với tôi’. Hãy tha
thứ tất cả. Hãy tha thứ như Chúa đã tha thứ cho anh chị em. Và như thế, sự
yếu đuối chúng ta mang trong mình, với sự giúp đỡ của Thiên Chúa trong lời
cầu nguyện trở thành sức mạnh bởi vì tha thứ là một sức mạnh rất lớn. Ta cần
phải mạnh mẽ để tha thứ, nhưng sức mạnh này là một ân sủng mà chúng ta phải
nhận từ Chúa vì chúng ta là những người yếu đuối không thể cậy dựa vào sức
