<font face="Arial">ĐTC ca ngợi nỗ lực của 22 tổ chức bác ái Công Giáo quốc
tế giúp đỡ các Giáo Hội Công Giáo Đông phương, cũng như bao nhiêu anh chị em
tị nạn từ Siria và Irak. Ngài ghi nhận, trên thế giới, trong thời gian gần
đây có sự quan tâm nhiều hơn đối với số phận của hàng ngàn gia đình tị nạn,
và sự hiện diện ngàn năm của các Kitô hữu ở Trung Đông. Đã có nhiều sáng
kiến nhắm gây ý thức và trợ giúp các gia đình ấy cũng như mọi người vô tội
khác nạn nhân của bạo lực.</font></p>

để loại trừ những điều bị coi như những thỏa hiệp ngầm, theo đó mạng sống
của hàng ngàn ngàn gia đình - nam phụ lão ấu - dường như bị coi nhẹ hơn dầu
hỏa và võ khí trên cán cân những lợi lộc; trong khi người ta tuyên bố hòa
bình thì lại dung túng những kẻ buôn bán sự chết chóc đang hoạt động tại các
lãnh thổ ấy. Vì thế tôi khuyến khích anh chị em, trong khi tiếp tục phục vụ
theo tinh thần bác ái Kitô, hãy tố giác những gì chà đạp phẩm giá con người”.</font></p>

người ta sẽ không chặn đứng được làn sóng xuất cư, bao nhiêu con cái những
vùng ấy lên đường, tìm đến các bờ biển Địa Trung Hải để vượt biên, với bao
nhiêu rủi ro cho sinh mạng.”</font></p>
