đề nghị ngày 04 tháng 9 năm 2016 - trùng với ngày lễ ban ơn toàn xá cho công
nhân và tình nguyện viên của những công việc cứu trợ - đây cũng là một dịp
thuận tiện vì nó sát với ngày 5 tháng 9, là ngày lễ kỷ niệm cái chết của Mẹ
Têrêsa.</font></p>

lễ toàn xá cho công nhân cứu trợ đúng vào ngày áp lễ cuả Mẹ Têrêsa. Lúc đó
Đức Tổng Giám Mục Rino Fisichella, Chủ tịch Hội đồng Giáo hoàng về việc
Truyền Giáo mới, cũng là chủ tịch công tác chuẩn bị cho Năm Thánh Thương
Xót, đã trả lời rằng "tất cả mọi người đều chờ đợi sự phong thánh cho Mẹ

<font face="Arial">Mẹ Têrêsa tên là Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu, sinh ngày 26
tháng 8 năm 1910, tại Skopje, Macedonia. Là con út trong ba người con, nhờ
tham gia một đoàn thanh niên cuả các linh mục Dòng Tên có tên là Sodality,
mà từ đó nhận ra ơn gọi làm nữ tu truyền giáo.</font></p>

<font face="Arial">Mẹ gia nhập dòng Sisters of Loretto lúc 17 tuổi và được
gửi đi Calcutta để dạy trung học. Bị nhiễm bệnh lao, Mẹ đi dưỡng bệnh ở
Darjeeling, và trên đường, Mẹ đã cảm nghiệm một điều mà Mẹ gọi là "lệnh" từ
Thiên Chúa, là phải rời tu viện để sống giữa những người nghèo.</font></p>

<font face="Arial">Vatican đã cho phép Mẹ rời nhà dòng Sisters of Loretto và
sống ơn gọi mới cuả mình dưới sự hướng dẫn của vị tổng giám mục Calcutta.</font></p>

<font face="Arial">Sau khi rời tu viện, Mẹ Têrêsa làm việc trong các khu ổ
chuột, dạy trẻ em nghèo, điều trị người bệnh tại nhà. Một năm sau đó, nhiều
cựu học sinh của Mẹ đã tới với Mẹ, và họ bắt đầu chăm sóc cho những người
đang nằm đợi chết ở dưới các cống rãnh dọc theo đường phố.</font></p>

<font face="Arial">Năm 1950, dòng Thừa Sai Bác Ái đã được thành lập như là
một cộng đoàn của Giáo phận Calcutta. Năm 1952, chính phủ đã cấp cho họ một
ngôi nhà để tiếp tục sứ mệnh phục vụ cho những người nghèo bị bỏ rơi tại
Calcutta.</font></p>

từng nói: "Nếu bạn nghe thấy có người phụ nữ nào không muốn giữ con mình và
muốn phá thai, thì hãy cố gắng thuyết phục cô ấy mang đứa con ấy về cho tôi.
Tôi sẽ yêu đứa trẻ đó, nhìn thấy ở nó dấu chỉ của tình yêu Thiên Chúa. "</font></p>
