phương giữa Tòa Thánh và Israel cho biết đã hoàn tất Văn bản hiệp định toàn
bộ và đệ trình cấp trên để cứu xét và chuẩn bị ký kết. Thông cáo có nói đến
giải pháp hai quốc gia cho cuộc xung đột từ lâu giữa Israel và Palestine.</font></p>

Israel, nhưng báo chí Israel ra ngày 14-5-2015 đưa tin một số quan chức của
Bộ này tỏ ra bất mãn về việc Tòa Thánh chính thức dùng từ ”Quốc gia
Palestine” và cho rằng việc làm của Tòa Thánh không đẩy mạnh tiến trình hòa
bình tại Thánh Địa. Tuy nhiên cũng có một quan chức cấp cao khác của Bộ
ngoại giao Israel nói rằng người ta không thấy trong văn kiện và thông cáo
có đoạn nào nói Tòa Thánh nhìn nhận quốc gia Palestine, và chính phủ Israel
chờ đợi Tòa Thánh làm sáng tỏ vấn đề này.</font></p>

Palestine”. Tòa Thánh và tổ chức Giải Phóng Palestine, OLP, đã ký hiệp định
cơ bản với nhau hồi năm 2000. Năm 2004 một Ủy ban song phương được thành lập
để cụ thể hóa hiệp định chi tiết giữa hai bên.</font></p>

Hoa Kỳ, nói với tờ New York Thời Báo rằng: Quan hệ giữa Israel và Tòa Thánh
rất vững chắc, nên không bị thương tổn vì một từ ngữ hay một cách gọi. ”ĐGH
Phanxicô rất quan tâm đến các dân tộc tại Israel và ngài rất muón thấy có
một sự hòa giải an bình, nhưng tôi không thấy có thay đổi nào trong chính
sách của Tòa Thánh”.</font></p>

Ashrawi, thuộc Ban chấp hành của tổ chức OLP, chào mừng Hiệp định đã đạt
được với Tòa Thánh trong đó có nói đến việc Tòa Thánh chính thức nhìn nhận
người Palestine có quyền được một quốc gia. Bà Asharawi bày tỏ ”lòng biết ơn
và quí chuộng cao độ đối với ĐGH Phanxicô”.</font></p>
