<font face="Arial">Kitô hữu không sống trơ trọi một mình nhưng giữa lòng một
dân tộc và trong một lịch sử trần thế cụ thể, do đó, họ được mời gọi phục vụ
những người khác. “Ký ức và phục vụ” là hai điều then chốt trong bài chia sẻ
của Đức Giáo Hoàng Phanxicô vào sáng Thứ Năm, ngày 30 tháng 4, trong Thánh
Lễ tại nhà nguyện Santa Marta. Lịch sử, và qua đó là ký ức về nó, cùng với
sự phục vụ là “hai đặc điểm của căn tính Kitô giáo” được mô tả trong các bài
đọc trong ngày.</font></p>

<font face="Arial">Bài đọc từ sách Tông Đồ Công Vụ (13: 13-25) đề cập đến
Thánh Phaolô, là người đã đến thành Antiôkia và “như thường lệ đã vào một
hội đường nhân ngày Sa-bát.” Ở đó, “ông được mời nói chuyện.” Điều này, trên
thực tế, là “một phong tục của người Do Thái vào thời đó” khi khách đến.
Thánh Phaolô tiến lên bục giảng và “bắt đầu rao giảng về Chúa Giêsu Kitô.”
Tuy nhiên, Đức Giáo Hoàng nhấn mạnh rằng, “ông Phaolô đã không nói: 'tôi rao
giảng Chúa Giêsu Kitô, Đấng Cứu Thế; Đấng đã đến từ trời cao; Thiên Chúa đã
sai Ngài đến; Ngài đã cứu độ tất cả chúng ta và ban cho chúng ta mặc khải
này'. Không, không, không”. Để giải thích Chúa Giêsu là ai, vị Tông Đồ “bắt
đầu lược lại toàn bộ lịch sử của dân tộc”. Kinh Thánh viết: “Ông Phaolô đứng
dậy, giơ tay xin mọi người lưu ý, rồi nói: Thiên Chúa của dân Ít-ra-en đã
chọn cha ông chúng ta, đã làm cho dân này thành một dân lớn trong thời họ cư
ngụ ở đất Ai-cập, và đã giơ cánh tay mạnh mẽ của Người mà đem họ ra khỏi đó.”
(CV 13: 16-17). Như thế, bắt đầu từ tổ phụ Abraham, Thánh Phaolô “đã kể lại
toàn bộ lịch sử”.</font></p>

<font face="Arial">Đức Thánh Cha chỉ ra rằng điều này không phải là một lựa
chọn ngẫu nhiên. Điều tương tự cũng đã được thực hiện bởi “thánh Phêrô trong
bài giảng của mình, sau lễ Ngũ Tuần” và bởi “ông Têphanô trước Thượng Hội
Đồng.” Nói cách khác, họ “không công bố Chúa Giêsu mà không có một lịch sử”,
nhưng “công bố Chúa Giêsu trong lịch sử của một dân tộc đã được Chúa vạch ra
một cuộc hành trình trong nhiều thế kỷ để trưởng thành, trong sự viên mãn
của thời gian, như Thánh Phaolô nói.” Những gì Thánh Phaolô nói cũng phải
được hiểu là “Khi đến thời viên mãn, Đấng Cứu Thế đến, và dân tộc sẽ tiếp
tục cuộc hành trình vì Đấng Cứu Thế sẽ trở lại”.</font></p>

trong những đặc điểm của căn tính Kitô: Kitô hữu là những người nam nữ trong
lịch sử hiểu biết rằng câu chuyện không bắt đầu và kết thúc với tôi, nhưng
tất cả đã được bắt đầu khi Chúa bước vào lịch sử nhân loại.</font></p>

<font face="Arial">Điểm qua một vài sự kiện nổi bật trong lịch sử vẫn đang
tiếp diễn, Đức Thánh Cha nói thêm rằng nếu chúng ta chấp nhận “chúng ta là
những người nam nữ của lịch sử”, chúng ta cũng nhận ra một “lịch sử của ân
sủng Thiên Chúa, vì Thiên Chúa đã đi trước dân Ngài, mở đường cho họ, và

kết vững chắc với một dân tộc đã lữ hành qua nhiều thế kỷ, nghĩa là chúng ta
phải hiểu một đặc tính Kitô thứ hai, đó là “điều Chúa Giêsu đã dạy chúng ta
trong Tin Mừng, đó là sự phục vụ”. Bài Tin Mừng theo Thánh Gioan của ngày
Thứ Năm trong tuần thứ Tư của lễ Phục Sinh đã lặp lại những gì chúng ta vẫn
thường nghe trong ngày Thứ Năm Tuần Thánh: “Khi rửa chân cho các môn đệ
xong, Đức Giêsu mặc áo vào, về chỗ và nói: ‘Thật, Thầy bảo thật anh em: tôi
tớ không lớn hơn chủ nhà, kẻ được sai đi không lớn hơn người sai đi. Anh em
đã biết những điều đó, nếu anh em thực hành, thì thật phúc cho anh em! Hãy
làm cho người khác như Thầy đã làm cho anh em. Như Thầy đã đến với anh em
như một người tôi tớ, anh em phải là đầy tớ của nhau, hãy phục vụ”.</font></p>

vụ, chứ không phải là ích kỷ.” Mặc dù, người ta có thể phản bác: “Nhưng thưa
Cha, tất cả chúng ta đều ích kỷ”, nhưng điều này “là một tội lỗi, là một
thái độ chúng ta phải xa lánh”. Chúng ta phải “xin tha thứ, xin Chúa hoán

<font face="Arial">Để kết luận, Đức Thánh Cha đưa ra một vài gợi ý cho mỗi
người chúng ta thực hành trong cuộc sống hàng ngày. Trước hết, “hãy suy nghĩ
về hai điều này: Tôi có một cảm thức lịch sử không? Tôi có cảm thấy mình
thuộc về một dân tộc đã lữ hành từ xa xưa không?”. Có thể là hữu ích khi
chúng ta “cầm lấy Kinh Thánh, và đọc Chương 26 sách Đệ Nhị Luật” Ở đó, chúng
ta sẽ gặp thấy “ký ức, ký ức của người công chính” và “Chúa muốn chúng ta
phải là người có ký ức biết ngần nào” - nói cách khác, chúng ta phải ghi nhớ
