<font face="Arial">Là cộng đoàn hiệp thông trong Lòng Thương Xót của Chúa,
giáo xứ và các cộng đoàn nhỏ hội thánh kết hợp thường xuyên với Chúa Kitô
như cành nho gắn liền với cây nho, cách cụ thể và hữu hình, nhờ hiệp thông
với vị mục tử đứng đầu cộng đoàn hội thánh địa phương. Là kitô hữu môn đệ
Chúa Kitô, người linh mục cần đón nhận lòng thương xót thần linh trước hết
cho bản thân mình, và qua thừa tác vụ, cho dân Chúa, và cho mọi người. Thật
vậy, công cuộc Tân Phúc-Âm-hóa trước tiên phải được tiến hành khởi đi từ
hàng linh mục (x. Đại hội Dân Chúa 2010). Nếu như ngày nay nhiều Kitô hữu đi
lạc hướng và sai lầm, thì đó là vì nhiều thừa tác viên của Chúa đã chối bỏ
nhiệm vụ hướng dẫn luân lý cho đàn chiên của Đức Kitô, và vì họ im lặng hoặc
tệ hơn họ rao giảng không xác tín và sai lầm nên các tín hữu bị lạc hướng,
và trở nên càng mỏng dòn trước những tấn công của nền “văn hóa” thế tục hóa,
lương tâm bị ô nhiễm và bất an hơn.</font></p>

không phải là rời bỏ sứ vụ. Nhưng chính là để cho sứ vụ. Thời gian của thinh
lặng và nghỉ ngơi, thời gian ở một mình với Chúa trong cầu nguyện, kết hợp
người môn đệ với nguồn mạch của sứ vụ, với Đấng đã gọi mình làm tông đồ và
sai mình đi. Lánh riêng ra một nơi, tạm xa các hoạt động của sứ vụ để nghỉ
ngơi và cầu nguyện, thật ra nói lên điều này: sứ vụ không phải là của tôi,
nhưng thực ra là của Chúa. Thời gian ở riêng với Chúa như thế, thời gian của
cầu nguyện hằng ngày, hồi tâm hằng tháng, tĩnh tâm hằng năm, không làm giảm
bớt hiệu quả công việc của sứ vụ, trái lại rất cần yếu để hoàn thành sứ vụ
cách đầy đủ, vâng phục theo Đấng đã gọi và sai đi.</font></p>

<font face="Arial">Người linh mục, con người cầu nguyện, luôn trở nên ý thức
hơn toàn thể cuộc sống linh mục của mình là để phục vụ cho Mầu nhiệm đức tin
(Mysterium fidei), Mầu nhiệm Nhập thể Cứu chuộc, vốn được kinh nghiệm trực
tiếp trong Bí tích Thánh Thể. Hiến tế Thánh Thể là biểu hiện trọn vẹn nhất
đức ái mục tử của Chúa Giêsu Kitô. Nhờ ân sủng bí tích Truyền Chức Thánh,
Linh mục nên đồng hình đồng dạng với Đức Kitô trong đức ái mục tử; tâm hồn
của linh mục được ghi dấu mãi mãi bởi thực thi đức ái mục tử của Đức Kitô,
nhằm lợi ích cho mọi người. “Đời sống thiêng liêng của linh mục được ghi
khắc, khuôn đúc, đặc trưng bởi thái độ hành vi của chính Đức Kitô, là Đầu và
Mục tử của Hội Thánh, vốn bao gồm trong đức ái mục tử”.[1] Chính bởi hy lễ
Thánh Thể vì ơn cứu độ của thế giới mà Linh mục thực hiện cách trọn vẹn và
hoàn hảo nhất tác vụ thượng tế của Đức Kitô, vốn là điều ngài được gọi và
bởi đó mà ngài được thánh hiến. Thánh Giáo hoàng Gioan Phaolô II khi tham
chiếu đặc biệt đến sự biểu lộ cao cả nhất của chức tư tế, đã nhắc nhớ đến
lời của vị Giám mục đang phong chức khi ngài đặt lễ vật dâng tiến cho Thánh
lễ trong bàn tay của vị tân Linh mục, ngài nói: “Con hãy đón nhận những lễ
vật của dân thánh làm hiến lễ Thánh Thể. Hãy ý thức việc con làm, noi theo
điều con cử hành, làm cho đời con nên giống mầu nhiệm thánh giá Chúa Kitô”.[2]</font></p>

<font face="Arial">Việc tôn sùng Thánh Tâm Chúa Giêsu trong truyền thống
xuất phát từ sự tôn sùng Thánh Thể, và làm gia tăng lòng mến đối với Thánh
Thể. Chúa Kitô đã yêu và yêu “cho đến cùng” (Ga 13,1), chết trên thập giá vì
chúng ta, để cho trái tim Người bị đâm thâu, ban tặng chúng ta một dấu vô
song của tình yêu Người cho Hội Thánh. Thánh Thể là tặng phẩm vĩ đại nhất
Thánh Tâm Chúa dành cho chúng ta. Chúng ta kinh nghiệm trực tiếp tình yêu
của Thánh Tâm Chúa Giêsu hiện diện nơi các linh mục nhất là khi các ngài

Dân của Người, dâng trọn vẹn con người và đời sống, tất cả tình cảm và những

ấy một phản chiếu tình yêu trung thành và bền vững của Đức Kitô dành cho họ.
Tình cảm tự nhiên lẽ ra vốn dành cho người bạn đời và con cái trong cuộc hôn
nhân, người linh mục cùng với Chúa Kitô dâng cho Thiên Chúa Cha, hầu có thể
được biến chuyển thành tình yêu mến dành cho tất cả dân Người. Không thể
sống đời độc thân vì Nước Trời mà không có sự trợ giúp bởi ơn Chúa.</font></p>

người đại diện Chúa nơi một con người thụ tạo”.[3] Hành vi tự do mà người
tiến chức hứa vâng phục Giám mục và những đấng kế vị ngài phải được làm mới
lại mỗi ngày trong cầu nguyện: “Nhưng xin đừng theo ý con, một xin vâng ý
Cha”. Chúng ta dĩ nhiên vâng phục chính Chúa Kitô trên hết, rồi cũng vâng
lời Đức Giáo hoàng và Đức Giám mục giáo phận. Qua vâng phục, linh mục biểu
lộ sự kính trọng và yêu mến Đức Kitô, từ đó cứu lấy và thăng tiến sự hiệp
nhất trong Giáo hội giữa các thừa tác viên tông đồ.</font></p>
