<font face="Arial">Lời chào của Đức Kitô Phục Sinh với các môn đệ của Ngài
vào tối Phục Sinh, “Bình an cho anh em!” (Jn 20:19) tiếp tục vang lên trong
mỗi người chúng ta. Hòa bình, đặc biệt trong mùa Phục Sinh này, vẫn còn là
khát vọng của rất nhiều người đang bị những hình thái bạo lực chưa từng có
phân biệt đối xử và gieo rắc cái chết cho họ chỉ đơn giản là vì họ mang danh
“Kitô hữu”. Lời cầu nguyện của chúng ta mãnh liệt hơn bao giờ và đang trở
thành một tiếng kêu cứu với Cha, là Đấng giàu lòng thương xót, xin Ngài nâng
đỡ đức tin của nhiều anh chị em chúng ta là những người đang đau khổ. Đồng
thời, chúng ta cũng xin hồng ân hoán cải con tim của chúng ta từ sự thờ ơ
sang lòng từ bi.</font></p>

<font face="Arial">Thánh Phaolô nhắc với chúng ta rằng chúng ta đã được cứu
nhờ mầu nhiệm cái chết và sự phục sinh của Chúa Giêsu. Ngài là Đấng Hoà Giải,
Đấng đang sống giữa chúng ta và đang đưa ra phương thế để hòa giải giữa
chúng ta với Thiên Chúa và với nhau. Vị Tông Đồ nhắc lại rằng, bất kể những
gian truân và khốn khó trong cuộc sống, niềm hy vọng cứu độ mà Chúa đã gieo
trong lòng chúng ta vẫn tiếp tục phát triển. Lòng thương xót của Thiên Chúa
tuôn đổ trên chúng ta, làm cho chúng ta nên công chính và ban bình an cho
chúng ta.</font></p>

<font face="Arial">Nhiều người đang tự hỏi trong lòng: sao lại mở ra Năm
Thánh Từ Bi vào lúc này? Đơn giản là bởi vì Giáo Hội, trong thời điểm chao
đảo lớn lao này của lịch sử, được mời gọi để đưa ra những dấu chỉ rõ ràng về
sự hiện diện và gần gũi của Thiên Chúa. Đây không phải là thời gian để bị
phân tâm; nhưng ngược lại, chúng ta cần phải cảnh giác và cần phải khơi dậy
trong chúng ta khả năng để nhận ra những gì là thiết yếu. Đây là một thời
gian để Giáo Hội tái khám phá ý nghĩa của sứ mệnh được Chúa giao phó cho
mình trong ngày lễ Phục sinh: là trở nên dấu chỉ và khí cụ của lòng thương
xót của Chúa Cha (cf. Jn 20: 21-23). Vì lý do này, Năm Thánh phải làm sống
lại ước muốn biết được cách làm sao đón nhận vô số những dấu chỉ của sự dịu
dàng mà Thiên Chúa trao ban cho toàn thế giới, và trên tất cả, cho những ai
đang đau khổ, những người đang cô đơn và bị bỏ rơi, không có hy vọng được
tha thứ cũng chẳng cảm nhận được tình yêu của Chúa Cha. Một Năm Thánh để
trải nghiệm cách mạnh mẽ trong chính chúng ta niềm vui được tìm thấy bởi
Chúa Giêsu, Đấng là Chúa Chiên Lành đã và đang tìm kiếm chúng ta vì chúng ta
đã lạc mất. Một Năm Thánh để nhận được sự ấm áp trong tình yêu Ngài khi Ngài
vác chúng ta trên vai và đưa chúng ta trở về nhà Cha. Một năm trong đó được
Chúa Giêsu chạm đến và được biến đổi nhờ lòng thương xót của Ngài, để chúng
ta có thể trở thành những chứng nhân cho lòng thương xót. Như thế, đây là lý
do cho Năm Thánh: đây là thời gian cho lòng thương xót. Đó là thời điểm
thuận tiện để chữa lành các vết thương, một thời gian không mệt mỏi để gặp
gỡ tất cả những ai đang chờ đợi để được nhìn thấy và chạm tay của họ vào
