Kitô giáo hãy nghĩ đến các công việc xót thương về thể lý và tâm linh. Nó sẽ
là cách để làm cho lương tâm của chúng ta bừng tỉnh lại, một lương tâm đã
quá thường trở nên cùn nhụt trước cảnh nghèo khổ. Và chúng ta hãy tiến sâu

cho kẻ khát uống, cho kẻ rách rưới áo mặc, viếng kẻ liệt cùng kẻ tù rạc, cho
khách đỗ nhà, chuộc kẻ làm tôi, chôn xác kẻ chết. Và chúng ta đừng quên các
công việc xót thương về tâm linh (theo kinh nguyện tiếng Việt là Thương Linh
Hồn 7 Mối), đó là lấy lời lành mà khuyên người, mở dạy kẻ mê muội, yên ủi kẻ
