<font face="Arial">Trong các bài đọc phụng vụ hôm nay, chữ "chứng nhân" được
âm vang 2 lần. Lần thứ nhất ở trên môi miệng của Thánh Phêrô: sau khi chữa
lành cho một người bất toại ở cửa đền thờ Giêrusalem, ngài đã kêu lên rằng:
"Anh em đã giết chết tác giả sự sống, nhưng Thiên Chúa đã làm cho Người sống
lại từ trong kẻ chết; chúng tôi là những chứng nhân về điều ấy" (Tông Vụ
3:15). Lần thứ hai trên môi miệng của Chúa Giêsu Phục Sinh: Vào tối ngày
Vượt Qua, Người đã mở tâm trí của các môn đệ về mầu nhiệm tử nạn và phục
sinh của Người mà nói cùng các vị rằng: "Các con là chứng nhân về những điều
ấy" (Luca 24:48). </font></p>

<font face="Arial">Các Tông Đồ, những vị đã tận mắt thấy Chúa Kitô Phục Sinh,
không thể nào giữ thinh lặng về cảm nghiệm phi thường này của các vị. Người
đã tỏ mình ra cho các vị để sự thật về cuộc phục sinh của Người có thể vươn
tới hết mọi người nhờ chứng từ của các vị. Và Giáo Hội có nhiệm vụ phải kéo
dài sứ vụ này, hết mọi người đã lãnh nhận Phép Rửa được kêu gọi để làm chứng
nhân, bằng lời nói và bằng đời sống của mình rằng Chúa Giêsu đã sống lại,
Người đang sống động và hiện diện giữa chúng ta. Tất cả chúng ta được kêu
gọi làm chứng rằng Chúa Giêsu đang sống đây! </font></p>

<font face="Arial">Chúng ta có thể tự hỏi mình rằng: ai là chứng nhân? Chứng
nhân là người đã thấy, là người tưởng nhớ và là người tường trình. Thấy, nhớ
và nói là 3 động từ diễn tả căn tính và sứ vụ này. </font></p>

<font face="Arial">Chứng nhân là người đã thấy bằng con mắt khách quan, là
người đã thấy được một thực tại, nhưng không phải bằng con mắt dửng dưng
lạnh lùng; họ đã thấy và đích thân tham dự vào biến cố ấy. Đó là lý do tại
sao họ nhớ tưởng, chẳng những vì họ làm sao để có thể diễn lại các biến cố
ấy một cách chính xác, mà còn vì những sự kiện ấy đã nói và họ đã nắm bắt
được ý nghĩa sâu xa của chúng. </font></p>

<font face="Arial">Thế nhưng, ở đây là một sứ điệp cứu độ, một biến cố cụ
thể, thật sự là một Con Người, đó là Chúa Kitô Phục Sinh, Vị Cứu Tinh duy
nhất sống động của tất cả mọi người. Người có thể được chứng kiến thấy bởi
những ai có được một cảm nghiệm riêng về Người, trong nguyện cầu và trong
Giáo Hội, bằng một đường lối được bắt nguồn nơi Bí Tích Rửa Tội, được nuôi
dưỡng bằng Bí Tích Thánh Thể, được niêm ấn với Bí Tích Thêm Sức, được tiếp
tục hoán cải nhờ Bí Tích Thống Hối. </font></p>

<font face="Arial">Nhờ đường lối ấy, một đường lối luôn được Lời Chúa hướng
dẫn, hết mọi Kitô hữu có thể trở nên chứng nhân của Chúa Giêsu phục sinh. Và
chứng từ của họ càng khả tín nó càng tỏ hiện ở nơi lối sống có tính cách
phúc âm, hân hoan, can trường, hiền lành, bình an, nhân hậu. Trái lại, nếu
Kitô hữu sống thoải mái, sống hoang tưởng, sống vị kỷ, họ sẽ trở thành điếc
lác và mù lòa trước vấn đề "phục sinh" của rất nhiều anh chị em. Làm sao họ
có thể truyền đạt một Chúa Giêsu sống động, làm sao họ có thể truyền đạt
quyền năng giải phóng của Chúa Giêsu Kitô, những gì vô cùng dịu dàng êm ái
của Người chứ? </font></p>

các nạn nhân bị chìm đắm ở biển Địa Trung Hải và kêu gọi sự trợ giúp quốc tế
để tránh tái diễn những thảm kịch tương tự. Tất cả đều im lặng trong giây
lát để tưởng niệm các nạn nhân sau đó cùng nhau đọc 1 Kinh Kính Mừng. Tiếp
theo ngài ngỏ lời chào đến các phái đoàn hành hương từ khắp nơi trên thế
giới hiện diện, với một danh sách khá dài hiếm thấy. Cuối cùng ngài nhắc đến
sự kiện hôm nay là ngày bắt đầu 61 ngày (cho tới 24/6/2015) trưng bày Tấm
Khăn Liệm ở Thành Turin Ý quốc mà ngài sẽ đến kính viếng vào ngày 21/6/2015,

hy vọng rằng hành động này của việc tôn kính giúp cho tất cả chúng ta tìm
thấy nơi Chúa Giêsu Kitô Dung Nhan Nhân Hậu của Thiên Chúa, đồng thời cũng
nhận ra dung nhan này ở nơi gương mặt của anh chị em chúng ta, đặc biệt là ở
nơi những người anh chị em đau khổ nhất. Xin đừng quên cầu cho tôi. Chúc anh
