<font face="Arial">Trong Chúa Nhật thứ 5 Mùa Chay này, vị thánh ký Gioan làm
cho chúng ta chú ý đến một chi tiết đáng tò mò, đó là có một số người "Hy
Lạp", thuộc Do Thái giáo, bấy giờ cũng ở Giêrusalem để dự Lễ Vượt Qua, đến
cùng Tông Đồ Philiphê mà nói cùng ông rằng: "Chúng tôi muốn gặp Đức Giêsu" (Gioan
12:21). Trong thành thánh này, nơi Chúa Giêsu đã đến lần cuối cùng đây, có
nhiều con người ta. Có những con người bé mọn và những con người tầm thường,
đã tỏ ra nồng hậu đón nhận vị tiên tri Nazarét này, nhìn nhận Người là vị sứ
giả của Chúa. Có những vị Thượng Tế và thành phần lãnh đạo dân Chúa, những
kẻ muốn loại trừ Người, vì họ coi Người là một tên lạc đạo nguy hiểm. Cũng
có những người, như các người "Hy Lạp" ấy, những người tò mò muốn gặp Người
và hiểu biết hơn về bản thân của Người cũng như về những công việc Người đã
hoàn thành, mà việc cuối cùng đã từng gây chấn động là sự kiện hồi sinh của
Lazarô. </font></p>

<font face="Arial">"Chúng tôi muốn gặp Đức Giêsu": Những lời này, như rất
nhiều lời khác trong Phúc Âm, là những gì vượt ra ngoài tình tiết đặc biệt
đây và bày tỏ một điều gì đó phổ quát; chúng cho thấy một ước vọng hiện diện
nơi các thế hệ và văn hóa, một ước vọng hiện diện nơi tâm can của rất nhiều
người đã nghe về Chúa Kitô, nhưng chưa được gặp Người. </font></p>

<font face="Arial">Gián tiếp đáp lại một cách ngôn sứ lời yêu cầu muốn gặp
Người này, Chúa Giêsu công bố một lời tiên báo về căn tính của Người và tỏ
cho biết cách thức để thực sự nhận biết Người, đó là "Đã đến giờ Con Người
được vinh hiển" (Gioan 12:23). Đó là giờ của Thánh Giá! Đó là giờ Satan bị
đánh bại, tên chúa trùm sự dữ, và là cuộc chiến thắng tối hậu của tình yêu
nhân hậu Thiên Chúa. Chúa Kitô tuyên bố rằng Người sẽ "bị treo lên khỏi mặt
đất" (câu 32), một bày tỏ có một ý nghĩa lưỡng diện: "bị treo lên - lifted"
là vì Người bị đóng đinh, và "được nâng lên - lifted" là vì Người được Cha
tôn vinh (exalted) khi Phục Sinh, để kéo hết mọi người đến cùng Người cũng
như để hòa giải nhân loại với Thiên Chúa và với nhau. Giờ của Thánh Giá, giờ

<font face="Arial">Tiếp tục tiên báo về Cuộc Vượt Qua sắp đến của mình, Chúa
Giêsu sử dụng một hình ảnh đơn sơ mà gợi ý, đó là hình ảnh về "hạt lúa miến",
một thứ hạt khi rơi xuống đất, chết đi để sinh hoa trái (câu 24). Nơi hình
ảnh này chúng ta thấy một khía cạnh khác của Thánh Giá Chúa Kitô, đó là khía
cạnh phong phú. Thật vậy, cái chết của Chúa Giêsu là một nguồn sự sống mới
bất tận, vì nó chất chứa quyền lực tái sinh của tình yêu Thiên Chúa. Được
dìm vào tình yêu này nơi Phép Rửa, Kitô hữu có thể trở thành "những hạt lúa
miến" và sinh nhiều hoa trái nếu họ, như Chúa Giêsu, "mất sự sống của mình"
vì yêu mến Thiên Chúa và anh chị em (câu 25). </font></p>

<font face="Arial">Thế nên, đối với những ai ngày nay cũng "muốn gặp Đức
Giêsu", với những ai đang tìm kiếm dung nhan của Thiên Chúa; với những ai đã
học giáo lý khi còn nhỏ mà sau đó chưa được hiểu biết sâu xa hơn, có thể lại
còn mất đức tin nữa; với rất nhiều người bản thân chưa được gặp gỡ Chúa
Giêsu...; với tất cả những ai chúng ta có thể cống hiến cho 3 điều là Phúc
Âm, thập giá và chứng từ đức tin của chúng ta, tầm thường nhưng chân thành.
Phúc Âm: nơi chúng ta có thể gặp gỡ Chúa Giêsu, lắng nghe Người, nhận biết
Người. Thập giá: dấu hiệu của tình yêu Chúa Giêsu, Đấng đã hiến mình vì
chúng ta. Rồi đến một đức tin được chuyển thành những cử chỉ chân thành của
đức ái huynh đệ. Thế nhưng, chính yếu đó là ở nơi cái gắn bó của đời sống,
giữa những gì chúng ta nói và những gì chúng ta làm. Việc gắn bó giữa đức
tin của chúng ta với đời sống của chúng ta, giữa ngôn từ của chúng ta với
việc làm của chúng ta: Phúc Âm, Thánh Giá và Chứng Từ. </font></p>

hãy mang theo bên mình, hãy thường xuyên đọc, đọc hằng ngày. Hãy mang theo
Phúc Âm trong xách tay, trong túi của anh chị em, thế nhưng hãy thường xuyên
đọc Phúc Âm. Một câu, một đoạn hằng ngày. Lời Chúa là ánh sáng soi đường đi
nước bước của chúng ta! Lời Chúa giúp ích cho anh chị em. Hãy đọc Lời Chúa.</font></p>
