(07.03.2015) – Năm 2015 là năm ân phúc của Giáo hội Lào nhỏ bé: 3 thầy phó
tế sẽ được phong chức linh mục cho Hạt đại diện Tông toà Luang Prabang, đó
là các tân linh mục: Phaolô Lattana Sunthon, Augustinô Saegna Sii Bunti, và
Micae Kanthak Vilae Luong Di. Cha Tito Banchong Thopanhong, 67 tuổi, Giám
quản Tông toà Luang Prabang, nói rằng đây là dấu hiệu của niềm hy vọng lớn
lao. Phục vụ cho 2.600 tín hữu trong 6 giáo xứ của Hạt đại diện Tông toà
Luang Prabang hiện nay chỉ có thêm một linh mục nữa ngoài cha Tito.</font></p>
<p style="margin-top: 0cm; margin-bottom: 8pt"><font face="Arial">Cha giám
quản Tito nói: “Đó sẽ là một thời điểm lịch sử cho Giáo hội tại Lào và là
thời điểm ân sủng cho mọi người”. Ba vị giám mục Đại diện Tông toà của
Vientiane, Savannakhet và Pakse sẽ cùng với cha Tito gặp nhau vào tuần tới
để bàn về lễ phong chức dự kiến tổ chức vào tháng Mười Hai năm nay. Ba phó
tế sắp được thụ phong linh mục đã học tại Chủng viện Savannakhet và một thầy
đã theo học một năm tại Philippines. Các vị lãnh đạo Giáo hội tại Lào cho
biết sẽ mời Đức Sứ thần Toà Thánh ở Bangkok và các giám mục Á châu khác tham
dự lễ phong chức này.</font></p>
<p style="margin-top: 0cm; margin-bottom: 8pt"><font face="Arial">Cha Tito
cho biết thêm: Pakse có 8 chủng sinh, Savannakhet 5 chủng sinh và Luang
Prabang 3 chủng sinh. Cha cũng nói về mối quan hệ với chính quyền dân sự như
sau: “Tình hình là bình ổn và êm thắm, các hoạt động phụng tự và mục vụ của
Giáo hội đều không gặp trở ngại”; đây là dấu hiệu cho thấy tự do tại quốc
gia nhỏ bé dưới quyền Cộng sản này đang dần được cải thiện đều đặn.</font></p>
<p style="margin-top: 0cm; margin-bottom: 8pt"><font face="Arial">Trong số
khoảng 6 triệu dân chủ yếu là Phật tử, có 45.000 người Công giáo Lào, chưa
được 1% dân số. Giáo hội Lào hiện có 4 Hạt Đại diện Tông toà, trong đó
Luang Prabang đang trống toà, với 14 linh mục.</font></p>
<p style="margin-top: 0cm; margin-bottom: 8pt"><font face="Arial">Đức giám
mục Louis-Marie Ling Mangkhanekhoun, Đại diện Tông toà của Pakse hiện là Chủ
tịch Hội đồng Giám mục Lào–Kampuchea. Hội đồng Giám mục này cũng là thành
viên của Liên Hội đồng Giám mục Á châu.</font></td>
