viếng mộ hai thánh Tông Đồ và thăm Tòa Thánh. Đây là đoàn thứ 2 và cũng là
đoàn cuối cùng của các GM từ Á châu về Roma thăm Tòa Thánh trong năm nay.</font></p>

ca ngợi công trình của các thừa sai và các tín hữu Công Giáo ẩn náu mà Giáo
Hội Công Giáo tại nước này đang kỷ niệm 150 năm khám phá ra họ. Tấm gương
của họ tiếp tục nâng đỡ đời sống Giáo Hội ngày nay và cống hiến một chỉ dẫn
để sống đức tin.</font></p>

thừa sai từ nước ngoài đến hoạt động truyền giáo tại Nhật Bản, cộng tác với
các LM, tu sĩ địa phương và các thủ lãnh giáo dân. ĐTC nói:</font></p>

<font face="Arial">”Ngoà việc nâng cỡ các cố gắng của các thừa sai trong
việc loan báo Tin Mừng, tôi cũng khuyến khích anh em quan tâm đến các nhu
cầu thiêng liêng và nhân bản của họ, để họ không nản chí, nhưng kiên trì
trong các công tác của họ. Ước gì anh em hướng dẫn họ hiểu các phong tục của
nhân dân Nhật Bản, để họ có thể trở thành những người phục vụ Tin Mừng hữu
hiệu hơn và cùng nhau tìm kiếm những phương thức mới để mang tinh thần Phúc
Âm vào nền văn hóa (Xc Evang. gaudium 69).</font></p>

<font face="Arial">ĐTC cũng nhắc nhở rằng ”công cuộc loan báo Tin Mừng không
phải chỉ là trách nhiệm của những người rời bỏ quê hương đến miền đất xa xôi
để rao giảng Phúc Âm... Tất cả chúng ta, do bí tích rửa tội, đều được kêu
gọi trở thành những nhà truyền giáo và làm chứng cho Tin Mừng của Chúa
Giêsu, bất kỳ chúng ta ở đâu (Mt 28,19-20). Chúng ta được kêu gọi tiến bước,
trở thành cộng đoàn truyền giáo, cho dù điều này chỉ là mở cửa nhà, đi ra
ngoài, tiến vào các khu xóm láng giềng. ”Một cộng đồng truyền giáo can dự
bằng lời nói và việc làm vào cuộc sống thường nhật của dân chúng; bắc những
nhịp cầu trên những xa cách, hạ mình xuống nếu cần, và đón nhận cuộc sống
con người, đụng chạm đến thân mình đau khổ của Chúa Kitô nơi người khác. Như
thế những người truyền giảng Tin Mừng có ”mùi của chiên” và chiên sẵn sàng
nghe tiếng của họ” (Evang. Gaudium 24).</font></p>

<font face="Arial">Nhật bản rộng gần 378 ngàn cây số vuông với 126 triệu 650
ngàn dân cư đa số theo Thần đạo và Phật giáo, và chỉ có 1,7% là tín hữu
Kitô, trong đó chỉ có 444 ngàn tín hữu Công Giáo, tương đương với 0,35% dân
